you should date nerdy guys....they are probably the ones that will treat you the best i used to have the idea that I needed to date the "hot" guys. i had a standard and I stuck to it. but you know, they all think they can do better...no matter who they are with. they are always looking out to see if there is something better out there. it's sad. so i met my nerdy husband yes, i have a hard time being married...because I am stubborn, independent, and very moody. but he adores me. he really does. i'm not saying it's because he couldn't do any better...i'm sure he could. but i'm saying that he was ready for a committed relationship. he wasn't on the look for the better looking person that might be out there. he was very happy to meet someone and allowed himself to love them. and allowed someone to love him back. a lot of the big macho guys out there....they may feel like they love or care for someone...but they won't allow themselves to REALLY feel it...and express it.i am not trying to stereotype, but that is what I ran into during my 4 years of being alone. I'm sure there are some extremely good looking, macho men that are amazing husbands. I just couldn't find one LOL

| Sounds like you have run into a few jerks! Too bad you don't live here in Atlanta! My brother is single (and if he was ever a jerk he would have to answer to his big sister )! LOL!

| I was at the same place you were a few years ago. And you know what I did? I became my own best friend. I asked myself, how was your day? I learned that I don't have to go to others for advice or support when I can really hold myself up. Granted, I have some great friends, and loved spending the time with them, but I had to learn that there isn't anything I can't handle, and I don't need anyone to support me emotionally. It made all of my friendships better, because we weren't friends out of necessity, but out of desire. And it was also wonderful to know that when I met a guy, he only had the potential to be my friend. They all knew that I wasn't going to pursue romantic interests at that time in my life. And don't you really want a guy who is a friend first, and then more? Once I stopped looking for it, got my head on strait, and started pursuing what I wanted, then it fell in my lap. And trust me, I fought it tooth and nail, told this guy I didn't want to go out with him, but he didn't give up, and he is wonderful. I can't tell you how thankful I am for the time I gave to myself and no one else, it has changed who I am today, and made me ready for the relationship I am in. Girl, I am almost 25, and I don't feel the need to be married. My brother is almost 33, and he isn't married. And it was hard for him to spend 12 years out of highschool without anyone, but he is a better man for it. Hmm, maybe you should date my brother...

| I got married at 20 then divorced a year later. I didnt get married again untl I was 34. There were many times I thought I might be single forever, but that was fine with me. I had learned to spend time alone and enjoy it. I am happily married now, but it is like everyone else said, I wasnt looking for love. It found me. Go on trips, take a class, concentrate on you and what makes you happy, you will find there is more to life that you enjoy besides a man. Hang in there!!

Okay I had to chuckle at this one! Don't tell my DH, but he is a very smart and intelligent NERD, with the biggest heart you will ever find. But, he is my night in shining armor. Now, remember...not telling DH... | |

| You guys really do crack me up. It feels good to have somewhere to talk to and complain about things without having someone point out nonsense (which is what my friends tell me) But I understand what you are all saying and I am going to TRY to focus on myself and better myself. And if that doesnt work then i'll just become a nun! |
