| I bet they would! They are made to stick on tubs and/or tile. Tile is ceramic and some tubs are.

Well, since they are made to go on the bottom of the tub I think that they would, since a lot of tubs are ceramic. If I remember right they weren't just silhouettes they had the actual raised details, too. They would look really cute painted if you can find a paint that would adhere to them well.

| Shana, I have an idea for some extra decor for your baby's room: Go to a sporting goods store and get a small fish net, and then get some colorful plastic or paper fish and beachy themed items like starfish, shells, and seahorses from the party supply store. Then, put 2-3 of those small ceiling plant hooks on either side of the corner of the room, and hang one side of the net from it. Put the fish/shells in it, and hang up the other side of the net on the same hooks (you might have to hang them from different loops in the net to make them "swim" depending on their size, or they might just get caught in the right parts of the net too). Instant beachy room decor! And for an affordable price! You could also use this same net later with clothespins to hang pictures and artwork from the net when she gets older, or cards from her baby shower! I wish I had a picture of what this would look like-I did this when I was a toddler room teacher-and the kids LOVED looking at it! (Of course, it was up high where they couldn't get at it, but it was cool!)

This is what I was thinking of doing across a wall or I was even thinking of draping a fish net over the curtains as sort of an overlay. I already have all sorts of shells that Ive collected on my vacations

| I got my mermaid fabric in that I ordered and Im a tad dissapointed because I didnt realize how HUGE the mermaids are on it. Each mermaid on the fabric measures 10.5 inches tall so it is a really big print. The background color is paler than I thought too, I painted the room a vibrant blue green. Im going to stick with this fabric regardless because Ive already matched my painting to it (and I have 2 more paintings Im already working). PLus it is the best mermaid fabric I have found. Im just trying to decide if I really want to use this fabric for EVERYTHING, I think it will be too much if I use it for the curtains and other stuff like that. I think I will just use it for crib bedding and Im not really sure what else. What do you guys think?

You could also cut mermaid squares and make a valance out of that and then use a coordinating fabric for the bottom curtains (or not have bottom curtains). I think the fabric that Jodi showed would be adorable and I'm sure there are other that could coordinate as well. Don't worry about the background color of the fabric being less vibrant than your paint. That will give the room just more details if colors compliment and coordinate rather than match exactly!!!!

| what's that you say? you're going to make stuffed mermaid pillows and matching for the furry babies? my mom made me a "holly hobby" doll once out of a pillow. she cut out the HH from the center and sewed it in the HH shape. (i know you have the talent) and i loved that thing. still have it somewhere. (thinking about it as an adult makes me realize how many twists and turns were required for her to sew it) also, is this your first baby? you're going to need an extra set of everything. (or 4). what about in the car? and if she becomes attached to a blanket, pillow, or doll, you might want to have one to wash and one to love. (eventually she'll know the difference tho!) i'm pretty sure there are patterns out there for your larger mermaids also, like a diaper stack holder thingy (so convienent) and a changing pad. |

| That fabric looks totally different color-wise than the photo from Ebay. I can understand why you'd be a little disappointed. But, I still think you have lots to work with. You are so creative and talented, the end result will be fabulous and you'll have us all wanting you to come be our decorator!!!

Thats a good idea for the quilt and curtains, thank you, are making me feel better. I have 5 yards of this fabric and I just wasnt feeling as confident about it. I like your idea of making a valance with it because i was trying to figure out how to still incorporate this fabric into the curtains without having so much of the big overpowering print.

| Don't be worried about having 5 yards and not enough to do with it. Because you can NEVER have too many sheets with a baby...NEVER. So whatever is left, make sheets! That print will be absolutely perfect for a comforter and crib bumper. I still think it's great. |
