Im going to stick with this fabric regardless because Ive already matched my painting to it (and I have 2 more paintings Im already working). PLus it is the best mermaid fabric I have found. Im just trying to decide if I really want to use this fabric for EVERYTHING, I think it will be too much if I use it for the curtains and other stuff like that. I think I will just use it for crib bedding and Im not really sure what else. What do you guys think? |
Since the mermaids are so large, why not enlist your quilting mom to make a quilt for the crib and just do squares with the mermaids? This would be really cute on a bumper pad headboard piece. A dust ruffle for the crib that goes to the floor would look cute with the entire fabric.
You could also cut mermaid squares and make a valance out of that and then use a coordinating fabric for the bottom curtains (or not have bottom curtains). I think the fabric that Jodi showed would be adorable and I'm sure there are other that could coordinate as well.
Don't worry about the background color of the fabric being less vibrant than your paint. That will give the room just more details if colors compliment and coordinate rather than match exactly!!!!
