I got a nice thank you note from your brother. He told a little about himself and his assignment. I was glad to know the pkg made it to him. Hope he is home safe and soon!

I am just finding this thread and am so sorry. I know how you feel as my brother (2 years younger) just left for his second tour in Iraq last week. He also spent a year in Korea, then the following year went to Iraq, and is now back there once again. I firmly believe that we have to stay strong and supportive of those who are over there as they are there standing up for something that they believe in. As you said, there isn't much for them to do so I would send my brother little hand held video games. Also, baked goods and snacks are always a hit. I will keep you, your brother, and your family in my prayers.

I did not update the thread bc I wanted the Thank you notes from him to be a surprise! I was sooo impressed that he sent out thank you notes to everyone! he really is such a SWEET kid!!!

Thank you all once again for your kindness and generosity! He is *fingers crossed* coming 'home' Sept 30th! I am hoping and praying that this date is true!

I just saw this thread...my boyfriend is in the Army National Guard and went to Kuwait for 9 months before we met. I can only imagine what your family is going through. I will definitely send him a package!

Hey gutu you are sooo sweet! I am glad your boyfriend made it home safe and sound!!

As for sending a package, I think at this point it might not make it before he gets out. He is out of there in a month.. it might skid by cuz it usually takes 2 weeks to get there at least. It would be wonderful to send a package to anyone who is stationed out there right now.

I can ask him and get back to him when I hear back from him. I think hed be coming home with his whole troop so im not sure if he knows anyone else who is staying, but Im sure he must, its a big base out there!

My hubby came back from 4 months in Qatar in april. He is in the RAF.
