A friend of mine (back in middle school) tried to relax my naturally curly hair w/some CVS special hair straightener. You could only imagine what that looked like.
I also tried Peroxide to lighten my hair!

I just thought of something else I did. I got one of those little eyebrow clippers that are supposed to be so easy to use. Well they sure cut fast because I had only half of one eyebrow left...the outside edge...and I was only trying to trim underneath. I texted my daughter who was at the movies and she starting laughing so hard she had to leave the movie.

Oh my V, try this scrub the next time. Robin McGraw was on Rachel Ray and this is what she uses. She also gave her recipes for a Body Scrub, Cornstarch Facial and Egg White Facial. She doesn't care for spa's so she does these at home. I think this link should get you to the recipe page
http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/?q=facial-scrub

Facial Scrub

1 cup of oatmeal

1 cup of almonds

1/2 cup of honey

Combine ingredients in a blender until smooth. Scrub on face. Remove with a washcloth and then rinse with cold water.

This scrub can be applied every day.

Back when big chunky streaks were in (I was about 13-14), my friend & I bought hilighting kits to do our hair chunky-style.

BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD idea. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. LOL

Then, we did each other's hair

Mine turned out so neon yellow that it was GLOWING. Hers? Hers turned out great lol

V - I use a sea salt facial scrub every morning it's this one http://ca.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/2128?expand=Skincare & it's FABULOUS! Honestly, I can't say enough good about it! I have super dry skin & this just clears that right up.

Worth a try!!

I tried to tell my husband it was my new 'yorkie' look and not a mistake - he didn't buy it

aand thanks you guys for the info - The one I used was by Arbonne and only for the BODY - it had so much oil in it I had to wash my hair 3 times to get it off me

When I was 16 I wanted to lighten my extremely long below the waist mousy brown hair but my Mom wouldn't let me. So when she was at a PTA meeting my girlfriend and I put Summer Blonde in my hair and I had orange hair. Left the box on the sink so of course my Mom knew as soon as she came home, as if she wouldn't have noticed my orange hair as soon as she saw it. She made me grow it out in stead of fixing it, So for years I had two tone hair!!!

2 things - number 1, my daughter took me to a salon and got me beautiful fake nails for Mother's Day. I was lighting a cigarette in the car (I know, I suck), and two of my nails caught on fire. I am driving down the street waving my hand screaming! They are flammable, ladies!! My daughter called me Flamin Jack after that one!

Number 2 - I was pregnant with my daughter and wanted a "pick me up" so I went to the hair salon and got a perm. I had really long red hair. Well, she used the smallest rods on my hair and I came out of the salon looking like a poodle! It was a nightmare!!! I cried and cried!

When I was in college I tinted my hair with Kool-Aid. Bad Idea. I was a pitcher and I played in Texas (lots of bugs and lots of heat). There were so many flies around my head. I was lucky to get through the 4th inning. I ran 10 suicided that night cause the coach thought I would learn my lesson that way. LOL.

I have super sensitive fair skin all over, well I can't use hair removal products on my legs because they brake me out and all that. So I hear about the Nads stuff and think that cool I could try that. Big mistake! I not only got a rash but I had huge bruises on me people thought I had been in an accident!

When I was 22 and first divorced I had between the shoulder blades, one length brown hair with lots of body. I got a wild hair and decided I needed a perm.

My mother - (now retired hairdresser) gave me a "computer perm". I'd never had one and it REALLY worked. I HATED it. My hair drew up to shoulder length.

I went the next day and bought this relaxer that black women use on their hair. (I thought hair was just hair) Well, it KILLED my hair all the way to the root. I looked like the scarecrow in the wizard of oz.

Back to Mama - who had to cut ALL my hair off. She raised he** with me for 2 weeks because I put that stuff on my hair. She told me it was a miracle I still had skin on my head, much less hair.

When I get upset, I tend to do weird things to my hair. I've been every color from black to white both accidentally and on purpose. I finally stopped when I stripped every pigment cell from my hair and had to send my husband to the store for more color one night. He told me the next time I tried to do anything to my hair he was going to hog tie me, throw me on back of the truck and take me to my Mama.

My biggest mistake was overplucking my eyebrows in the 90's, when "thin was in" Some of them won't grow back and now I have to use brow powder to fill that area in

I panic a few minutes then run next door to my neighbor, who is a hairdresser. She put on some kind of neutralizer (after just about wetting herself laughing at me) and it turned bright purple!!! Now, we are both panicking. Checked the box, yep, has some sort of metal ingredient that caused the purple. So, she called her boss (who owned the salon) and he told her he would meet her at the salon, he had something that would save it. (Fri. nite - salon closed). Had to wash it about 10 times, but we managed to save my hair - and my ego at the funeral. Never used that brand again.

Also, tried a new haircut when I was young - the lady paid no attention to what I was saying and cut it so short, the hair on my arms was longer than the hair on my head. I locked myself in my room for a week (it was summer, I was 16) and cried. Thank goodness my hair grew fast.

LOL OMG i can totally feel your worry and pain at this moment! hahahah sorry but this story was hilarious
