I don't know what a spider bite looks like but it looks like it might be a tick bite to me. When I took a field course years ago, we were told to watch out for the bulls-eye looking rash because it could mean that we were bit by a tick that carries Lyme disease. I know someone with Lyme disease and it can be very debilitating at times. I would definitely find someone who specializes in Lyme disease to at least rule it out. If she was, if fact, bit by a tick there might be something that they could do now. Once you have Lyme disease, you may present with symptoms for years and not be able to get rid of them completely.

Almost forgot, don´t but any creams on it, because it will just disappear for a day and come back bigger. When I had the ring worm I would apply some lotrisome and elecon and this would make it disapper for a day and the next day the ring got bigger and bigger. The doctor told me that I was feeding it and this is why it got bigger.

nope...not a ring worm. she has had that before and it looked a lot different. we went to 2 different doctors just to make sure but they both said it does not appear to be lyme disease. they both said it looked to be a spider bite or another bug bite that just got infected. she is on augmentin for 10 days. it already looks a LOT better and almost appears to be going away completely. it does still itch a bit but she is not scratching and she is keeping benadryl creme on it, per the doctors advice.

thanks for all of the advice/concerns. it appears she will be just fine and that this is nothing to be too awful concerned with, now that we have her on antibiotics.

i will let you know if anything changes.

I am glad she is better. No matter what it is (spider bite, tick bite, misquito bite) the antibioitcs will take care of it so don't worry.

Good to hear it was nothing serious, I knew it wouldn't have been anything serious. My brothers looked exactly the same and his was from a darn Mosquito bite. It itched like crazy, but it went away within a week or two.

It looks like an insect bite to me. My son had a fairly innocent bug bite, but the acutal punture wound got infected. He ended up on a strong oral antibiotic.

It looks like a visit to the doctor might be necessary.

today, you can barely even tell it was ever there. the bite itself is still a tad pink but all in all, you would never know it was so nasty looking. it just looks like a little mosquito bite now. so we are doing much much better.

That is great to know. Those post of Lyme disease were scary. Glad she is doing better. Hugs to a both
