thanks for all of the advice/concerns. it appears she will be just fine and that this is nothing to be too awful concerned with, now that we have her on antibiotics.

Good to hear it was nothing serious, I knew it wouldn't have been anything serious. My brothers looked exactly the same and his was from a darn Mosquito bite. It itched like crazy, but it went away within a week or two.
