| Emotional Day For me Hi Guys, my daughter just left for a trip to kansas, and im still crying I know it might sound silly, but she will be gone for a week and we have never been apart before, she is 17 and going on a skilled usa trip with her class, she won finals here in our state and she is now # 1 to go nationls, yes iam very proud but scared at the same time.guess i just needed to talk about it, feeling better already just writing to you all, Hubby had to take her to the air port as iam not well enough to travel, so i had to say goodbye from home and boy did the tears start to flow, so i jumped on here for a little moral support, thanks all and sorry so long

| I know how you feel. I hate having my 16 year old son away from me. Once he joined Scouts (his father joined as assist. leader), they would go away for a weekend and I thought I'd lose my mind. Thankful his father was with him to watch over him. Then when they started going for a week, I just didn't know how I would make it through the week. Now that I'm use to it, I still miss him and can't wait for him to come home, but he loves it and all the experiences. We have to let them go sometimes and I always try to wait to cry until after he pulls out of the driveway. What are we mothers to do!

| Awww....I am so sorry you are sad. You daughter will miss you very much!!! I always missed my family and was ready to get home after that week. Is she in VICA? I was in that and I had to go to states. Luckily I was only a few hours from the place they were doing it. No worries...I am sure you daughter will be fine.

| Hope this week passes quickly for you. Hopefully you'll find some things to keep yourself occupied. Time always flies for me when I'm on "YorkieTalk". Before I know it it's midnight!! I'm sure it's hard to let your babies go on their first away trip.

| So glad you heard Amy got there safely. I remember the first day I took my daughter to college and we cried, I ended up trying to sleep there and then bringing her back home at 3 am and driving her back for class the next day (100 mile RT) ... did that for 4 days until I had to go back to my school for work. Cried each time she came home for the weekend and left. Until 6 months later, she acclimated and got used to doing her school work and coming home whenever necessary (like to do laundry). It really is hard letting go. I do not know for whom it is harder! I think we all go through this.
