| If I thought I was bummed before! In no way a reflection on Misty who is absolutly heartbroken over it! Paris's placement is not working out. I'm picking her up tonight. Paris, being Very confused and scared right now has clung to Misty, become a bit protective of her and is chasing off Chloe with some threatening nips and whatnot, she said that Paris actually bit Chloe on the shoulder! She did not break any skin but she said that she did bite her. Paris has NEVER bitten anybody, dogs included! I just had Shanna and her little Chloe out for a 10 day visit and Her little love was welcomed into the pack, on Paris's turf without a single hitch. She must be really stressed for this to have happened. She has also been barking which has made Chloe bark during the night in their crates. I know she is scared and confused right now. I feel so awful about having done this... and now she is coming home. To a home where I still cannot keep her. I will be putting an ad up for her in hopes that she will be rehomed with a YT'er. Just say a prayer for Paris that this does not cause too much stress to her, and Pray for the perfect home! Thanks guys.

| Kathryn, I'm so sorry to hear this...It will be okay. You will find a home that will be right for her. She must have been extremely confused and stressed for her to act like that. I will be praying that the transition is easy on her and that you find the perfect home for Paris.

| Poor little girl! Best of luck finding her the perfect forever home. Maybe someone who doesn't have any other dogs and is looking for a yorkie can take her. |

| She has NEVER had issues with other dogs.... she does not need a home devoid of other dogs. I have 4 and I dog sit and have guests who bring their dogs and I've never had a problem. I think she may just need someone who can handle the stressfull transistion that she is obviously going to go through. She may have felt threatened? or it could be as simple as.... dogs sometimes wrestle for the dom position and some people can handle watching that and others can't. (Again... Please don't be offended Misty.... I in no way mean for this to reflect on you. She was concerned for the safety of her dog and I understand that. ) I think an experianced dog owner is what Paris needs.

| I understand what Kathryn is talking about. It is definately an adjustment for a dog to have another dog added to their family. I have three dogs and the pack order was upset with each new addition, but dogs have a funny way of working things out between themselves. Once a pack order is established, all is well. It took our dogs about a week with full-time supervision (or else crated) before they worked themselves out. It's so funny how their pack-order works, too. Hobbs is our pack leader, then the black lab Lamar, then Hootie is at the bottom. It's quite humorous how Hobbs, the 3lbs yorkie, dominates Lamar, the 65lb lab! |

| Sorry to hear that it didn't work out...........she was probably having trouble with the new surroundings, noises, people, dogs........it's a lot to adjust to. Of course, they do attach themselves so quickly to their owner and I am sure she was looking for security. Hope you find her a great home where the adjustment goes a bit better. I am sure Misty was heartbroken to have to let her go!!!

Paris is a beautiful and sweet little girl. I was so excited to get her (and I did pay for her; she wasn't free like some may have thought--just want to clear that up). She is playful and fun; you should see how she goes after squeaky toys--you will be in tears it's so cute to watch! I know she will make someone a wonderful pet. My Chloe is an 8.5 month old puppy. She is very sweet tempered, and very submissive. At a recent yorkie meetup, she rolled over on her back for all those other yorkies. She really seemed like she wanted to play with Paris. When Paris would sniff her, Chloe would try and sniff her and tried to give her a little kiss. Paris would snap at her and chase her away. The first time, I thought she bit her, but I brushed it off quickly, because there seemed to be no real incident, so I thought, no she didn't bite her, just chased her off. I chalked it up to two unfamiliar dogs trying to establish pecking order. I knew Paris had to be a bit nervous, being in a new home, and I wanted her to feel loved and cherished just like Chloe is. So I would hold her on my lap, and she loved to let me cuddle with her. I was really excited about this because this is what we want--cuddle dogs! I think she bonded with me really quickly, and liked to be at my feet the whole time, so I was making sure to give her plenty of attention. I knew a move was difficult for her, and I wanted her to feel at home as soon as possible. So on the day after we brought her home--Monday--I had picked up Chloe and was holding her. Paris came over, and I patted the couch and invited her to jump up and sit in my lap too, which she did. After a few seconds, Paris chased Chloe away. When Chloe came back, she did it again, and went down and chased her, and snapped at her. It got progressively worse throughout the day and later, she got on her and in a tangle, she snapped at Chloe's front shoulder. There was no mistaking it this time--Chloe let out a huge yelp, and limped and cowered off into her crate. I took her out and looked at her, and could not see any broken skin. But after that. It seemed any time that Chloe would try to come to me, Paris would chase her of and snap at her, and it just got progressively worse. It really broke my heart when Chloe seemed to not want to come over to me for fear that she would get attacked. Maybe with a little more time, it would have worked out--I don't know. But I've never seen my baby in a position like this, and it was heartwrenching to think of having to give Paris back. But I was afraid the longer I waited, if it didn't work out, it would be so much harder on Paris, on me, on Chloe, and on Kathryn to have to give her back later. So I made a judgment call. But I cried over it. Maybe it is because Chloe is still really just a puppy, and Paris is used to being pushed around by Pixie, she's just trying to do the same. She might get along better as an only dog or maybe with a more headstrong one. Either way, my giving her back is no reflection on Paris--she is a lovely and sweet little girl. It just wasn't the right match for us. But I know there is a perfect home for her out there, and I hope she finds it here on YT! | |
