Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | For those who work from home I am looking for a legit second job that i can do from home. I don't make enough from my current job to be able to afford to move out on my own. I am looking for something i can do at night and on the weekends. Does anyone do anything like this or can anyone suggest something for me to try? I am desperate.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I work from home - I do promotional advertising for small businesses - mass faxing...brochures...flyers etc but it got too slow for me to help with bills so I'm looking for a job now. I do Cards on the side but it's more a hobby with me and I only charge to cover my materials... Some people do medical transcription from home and I'm going to look into that but honestly it's hard to work from home and make real money unless you have something that people really need...building websites is a good way to work from home but you need to know HOW to do them My good news is next monday I'm going to be teaching a 90 year old man Computer & photoshop basics at his home - (He saw one of my cards & loved it LOL) I can't WAIT ...if it turns into something more I'll be happy but still need a REAL job |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Finding work to do from home that you can make a living at is tough. There are a few things like the transcriptions Villette mentioned, babysitting or possibly dog daycare/nightcare. If you have a sewing or craft talent, what about selling on ebay? I know a couple of people that do make some good extra income from ebay sales.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i've been searching for transcriptionist stuff that i could do at home because i have the medical background but can't really find anything legit. all the stuff on craigslist and other job search sites seem like bull. I've also considered pet sitting and i do actually do it for friends and family but they don't go away often enough. Its a hard thing to start up if you want a serious business because you have to worry about legalities. I would need to be bonded and insured and i need contracts so i can't get sued if something happens or if the owners feel like it. *sigh* i have a full time job where i work over 40 hours a week but its not enough money. thank you all for your suggestions. i have recently purchased a sewing machine so i could try to make something for morgan but haven't been able to get around to it yet. i don't think i'd do a nice job of making clothes.

| How about running errands for the elderly or taking them to their appointments, etc. OR doing small jobs (like light house cleaning, yard work ,etc)? I am trying to think......selling stuff online for yourself or other people might be a good start. Good luck! If you find anything good, let us all know!

| I wanted to mention.....a while back, there was a good posting about stay at home work.....I don't have time to search the past threads, but when you get time, you might want to search and see what you can find. Good luck!

| Maybe look into being a groomer on the side? You could "practice" on family and friend's pets until you get it down. Just a thought! |

If you are good at internet searches you might try to free lance as an informationist. People that don't have computers or are afraid of them might be willing to pay you for this. Say if they wanted to know about a medical disease. You could find plenty of legitimate information. Be careful that it is trustworthy though. Good luck. | |

| I do medical transcription from home. Yes, you do have to be careful there are a lot of rip off "training" companies out there. If you join some of the MT lists on yahoogroups there are some really nice people there who can give you a lot of advice on how to pursue it. I didn't go to school for it but had a medical background also. If you work for a company most of them do require you to work and be available certain hours, but you can work from anywhere in the country. I just do it independently as a contractor and can set my own hours. It is nice to be flexible, but I do find myself working lots and lots of nights and weekends as it is easy to get distracted.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | You could try PartyLite It's probably the best of all the in-home party programs when it comes to what you get and/or what it costs you to do business. Before I got my current job, I had some really bad $$$ times and it was a great supplement to my income for a couple years. I know they've changed their products quite a bit in recent years, but the candles always sell. I was able to get a relatively decent car after just a few months. You can pretty much make your own schedule, decide your own territory, and in some cases, people just have "book" parties so all you do is place an order. Also, you can work with schools or groups (I did it with two animal shelters) as a fundraiser. (I also gave them half my commission, too, but even at that, it was a win-win situation.) Maybe not for you, but just a thought ... |
