I Love Thor Donating Member | You Southerners!! Now that I have moved North, everyone wants me to cook them a ''southern meal'' . I can't think of traditional southern food . I think of ANYTHING fried, and grits. Any suggestions? Gotta love the south!! |

Mom to Marty & Maddie Donating Member | For breakfast, definitely biscuits and gravy...I could NEVER find that when I lived up north! LOL! Maybe beans and cornbread for other meals? And you're right about fried foods and grits, those are definitely southern! |

| Well I was born and raised in Texas so the first thing that came to my mind was beans with pan fries and corn bread. Course you can't go wrong with fried chicken potato salad. Or chicken and dumplings. I gotta stop now I'm getting hungry.

| How about good 'ol fried okra. I work with a girl that's from New York and she had never heard of fried okra until she came to Texas. My grandmother had a wonderful garden and I can still remember her frying up a batch of okra or squash. I can't wait for summer to get all the fresh veggies.

| Definetly fried potatos, corn bread, fresh green beans, fresh fried corn, pork chops, sliced fresh tomato and cucumber and green onions. And soup beans w/ chow chow, sour kraut and weiners, corn bread and a slice on onion...YUM. Just think of anything from a Cracker Barrel menu. |
