OMG Ya'll are talkin' my language now! How about this:

cracklin' cornbread
big white dried butterbeans cooked with a hambone
turnip greens
fried chicken (gotta have a "pulley bone")
fresh stewed squash with green onion
sliced tomatoes covered with pepper

peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream

AND sweet tea

Oh, I forgot - for breakfast - streak o lean, homemade biscuits, and tomato gravy!!!

I was just kidding, I love to watch Paula's home cooking, her food looks so yummy! I am afraid to cook anything Southern, as I'm sure my hubby would love it, he's a big guy already......but I will someday soon cook him something or other Southern. Gotta love people from the South.......

I'm a "Southern Girl"What about some ribs cooked in the crockpot,spoon dumplins,sweet taters,cornbread, soup beans,sliced cucumbers,sliced tomatos and a spring onion.SWEET TEA of course! and a good ol' nanner pudding and chocolate pie.Later on that night have some cornbread crumbled up in milk! Yummy !Yummy!

Hey - how's about so Irish Potato Candy!! My mom use to make this on St. Patty's Day... and Christmas... does anyone know what the ingredients are?

I love potato candy! My late grandmother used to make it all the time and we'd stand around watching her roll it up. Man, that stuff is sooooo good. I've got the recipe around here somewhere and I just might have to make some in Grandma's memory this weekend. Thanks for the reminder

My mom made with plain or sometimes chunky peanut butter..

Also, if you have ever cooked turnip greens or mustard greens or better yet
collards - you would know what potlicker is (always have plenty of cornbread with this) hehe..
