| when did you feel like you belonged? belonged.. is that even a word?? regardless... lately i've been seeing a lot of new members and i remember not too long ago when i was a new member and i felt like YT was a community but at first i didn't really feel like i was "part" of it... everyone seemed to know everyone and it took me a while to feel like i was a real member.. i'd say 300-400 posts... anyone else feel this way?? i also noticed that once i started pming various people for whatever reason i felt more a member and i felt like i had made connections. |

| Its funny that you asked that. I was actually just thinking about it. I have been a member for about a year but as you can see I dont have all that many posts. None the less I stay on YT ALL day long! I guess I just like to read more and type less. I felt like I belonged when I started to make true friends! Like Patti! She was my first and dearest friend!

| Still new... ...and finding my place. But all in all, I think it's a great place to make friends. I've only been an official Yorkie owner for a little over a week so I feel more "a part" of the community now that my Avatar picture is a Yorkie and not a Cairn terrier Just takes a while to get to know people in this medium. Is possible though - met my husband online!

| I'm still new so hopefully no one will take offense to this. YT seems kinda like being a new kid in high school. You don't know anyone and cliques have already formed so it seems hard to find your niche. It seems like certain people have each others backs and you don't know where you fit and if you do fit at all and what to take (and not take) so seriously. I'm probably telling on myself too much but ever since I moved from NY I have found it hard to find quality friends in TX. So I guess I kinda looked to this forum as another outlet besides my only other outlets now; my furbabies and my husband. |

I had just moved here to NY when I joined too, and I didn't have any friends so I jumped right in! And see, now you know we have a lot in common | |

| I don't know, probably once I started to get to know people on here. Some people reached out to me and just PM'd me and we would talk. Other times I'd just jump in a thread and start posting (possibly why I killed so many threads and yet I cannot kill the thread "threadkiller" ) I guess once I started posting pictures of my two little ones and started getting to know and recognize other peoples babies, then I started feeling more at home here. Sometimes YT seems SO huge when you think of ALL the members on here and I try not to box myself in to just a few people and I try to reach out to new members and welcome them and get to know them too like other people did for me. It's not easy being a new person, sometimes you can feel ignored and like you don't belong on some boards but everyone has always been SO super friendly on YT, in the beginning I wouldn't say I felt unwanted or like I didn't belong but now I feel like all of you are a part of my family |

| I Agree With All The Comments. I Think That When You Have Experienced Something In Common With Someone, Then You Can Form Friendships And Bonds From That, A Little More So Than Being A Member Who Posts Generally. I Am Still New And Though I Feel I Have Posted Quite A Lot - I Still Feel A Bit Like An Outsider - But With The Door Always Open For Me Too........... If That Makes Sense? I Am Glad To Be Part Of This Fantastic Community.

| What a "home hitting" thread!!! I have been feeling this way alot. What is causing this is kind of funny. I always go & check my subscribed threads to see what has posted since my post etc... it always seems in almost every one of them that once I post.... no one else posts. Talk about feeling like the odd man out. The other thing is when I did join and make Rusty's announcement, I didnt seem to get the repsonses that I see others get. I know, I know, I know... WAHHHH... I am a big girl & got over it but, the thread came up and gave me a chance to express it. NOW... I will say over the past couple of weeks, I have felt more "love" I am just ANXIOUSLY awaiting the next GE so I can feel more involved. As long as I hit my 100 posts that is I too am on here CONSTANTLY, I guess I need to quit holding back and post, post & post some more !!! Ok... I hope everyone has a great day. Angi

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I first felt I belonged when Villette helped me with my picture posting and Avatar. SInce then I have met some wonderful people through PM'ing. Kikipie and I connected thru emailing and we still check in on each other. I met Michiko thru YT and we talk everday and we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet in person when she spent a few days with me in January. So many others have reached out to me in Pm when I had problems and it really makes you feel like a family.

| I felt pretty invisible until the first time some of the more senior/popular members (i.e. Villette, SimonandHallie, Alaska Yorkie) started responding to my posts. Then I felt more like one of the group, not a newbie wallflower anymore! Oh, and also when I finally donated. That definately made me feel more belonging. I think the feelings will only get more warm and fuzzy once I participate in my first gift exchange! Can't wait! |
