So off went "TACO" and the baseball player named Bill, off into the lovely sunset to live happliy every after. Now Sally was so very happy but they had to get on the road now and head for.... |
Madison, Wisconsin to see Tink's Mom before they went on their way to Maine. it's only about a 6 hour drive from St. Louis so they loaded up the motor home with goodies and pup fod and off they went north on route 55 |
they drove and drove until they came to Tink's Mom's house and when they arrived they were greeted with big smiles and........ |
lots of hugs and a platter of cheese and sausage and lots of pecan pie and some brown beer and cranberry wine. Then they sat down to talk about Lucky's lucky break. |
But they needed to be on their way. Since they had found TACO a home already, they decided to go to Florida to see a nice lady that had a maltese and a yorkie that had invited them to have some fun in the sun. So they bid Tink's MOM a farewell and......... |
headed down I39 to Chicago and then down I55 through Illinois and then into Kentcky, and on down the states and over to Florida to visit that nice Morki lady. when they got there, they called her to see if they should bring their bathing suits. |
she said sure and don't forget the sun screen.... |
So they drove their motor home over to her house and parked close by so they could suprise her with their special purchase made in Georgia on the way over. |
But she evidently wasn't home, so they headed on up the highway on the way home to Maine. Sniff!:( |
They were very sad and kinda mad too they had come along way out of the way to meet up with the lady. |
Sniff Sniff!! So then they got to DC, they decided to take Lucky to see the Capitol, 'cause they might not get a change again any time soon. |
As they were admiring the Capitol building, the NICE MORKIE4 lady called their cell phone and apologized that she had not been home when they arrived and explained that she had been out shopping getting things ready for their visit. They accepted her apology and left Washington DC to return to Florida to visit the NICE MORKIE4 lady! They now felt really bad that they had become so upset and were anxious to return to Florida. So they hopped into the RV and headed back south........... |
LOL and coughing! So back down south they went for some sun and companionship! When they got to the NICE MORKIE 4 lady's house, she invited them in for a glass of mint julep and some tea for Sally and water for Lucky and then they talked about................ |

invite the NICE MORKIE4 lady and her companions and furbabies to Maine for the winter. I hear it's gorgeous there when it snows. But first they wanted to go swimming in the ocean. so they put on their bathing suits, slathered on the sun screen, grabbed the beach balls and cooler full of drinks and headed for the beach. When they got there... |
They tried to go in but the water was 68 degrees and way too cold to swim in so they rushed back to MORKIE4's house and went swimming in her nice heated pool and laid out on the lounge chairs catching some rays. After that,.......... |
OMG a heated pool in Florida!? ...they decided to roast some chicken on the grill and have a bite to eat. |
Then they threw some ribs and burgers on the grill, mixed up some frozen strawberry daqauris for the adults and some root beer floats for Sally. Lucky, Toby and Kallie were running around in the plush green yard having the time of their life!!!! It was such a fun day and well worth the trip back to Florida to see the very nice MORKIE4 lady. But as the sun was setting....... |
WSally's dad said, "Well NICE MORKIE4 lady, we must get our motor home back to the park for the night so we can get a good start in the morning for home. Thank you so much for the warm southern hospitality. Please come up to see us. We'd be happy to have you. And they walked off into the golden sunset. |

Chuckle.. Maine, their beloved home state. They waved goodbye to the NICE MORKIE4 lady and went on their merry way. They stopped on the road and bought a great big bag of BAA-BAA-Q treats for Lucky (oh yummy). And everyone was content to be traveling on the road home. |
So they headed east to the other side of Florida to travel up the coast and see the beautiful beaches. The very kind MORKIE4 lady had told them about some lovely campgrounds they could stay at on their way back to Maine. Upon arriving at one of the beaches on the East coast of Florida, they......... |
were so suprised and excited to see their neighbors the Johnsons! They had brought their family of Standard Poodles with them and they were getting ready to cook some staks on the grill for dinner. Sally's dad went over to say hi and see if they wanted to share dinner that evening. Mr Johnson said... |
Well Hi, Neighbor, pull up a chair and have a beer! Why bring the whole family over and let's get a look at that new little yorkie pup you have. So everybody came over to the Neighbor Johnson's camp site and had a nice long chat and dinner. But it was getting late now and so................. |
Eveyone went back to their own RVs and got ready for bed. What a lovely evening they had. Lucky settled down with Sally and pretty soon it was quiet and the only thing you could hear was a bird chirpind once in a while and Lucky fussing with the blanket. |
But then suddenly there was a loud noise coming from outside.. |
Nobody had told Sally's mom and dad that their were bears in the park. They felt somewhat safe in the RV but they had left food out and had forgotten the golden rule when camping: DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OUT!!!! But then Lucky started barking and they heard the bear touch the door handle of the RV. So................... |
Bears in florida? ...having had experience with animals in costume, Sally was not the tiniest bit afraid. She walked right over, opened thje door and gave that bear a big hug, all the while feelng for the zipper! |
Bingo! She found the zipper.........she knew there were no bears in Florida. So she asked her daddy to help her with the zipper as it was stuck in the fur. But before her dad could come over to help her, the "thing" in the bear costume ran off into the woods. Lucky jumped from the RV and began to....... |
bark her little head off at the "thing" and chased after it into the woods. Unfortunately, Lucky is dark and tiny and the sun had set and it was dark and scarey in the park. Oh no! What was Sally going to do? How could she ever get Lucky back? |
