the one of Bud and Lucky lying side by side in the grass with Lucky's little head lying on Buds big ole paw. |
Even Sallys mom thought it was the best picture of all. So sally used it for her avater. She signed on to Yt to tell everyone that Bub was going to be staying with her and her parents and Lucky until his owners moved into their new apartment. Sally knew when it was time for Bud to go home she would miss him, But it wasnt to far from where she lived so they could see him all the time. |
Sally also posted the other pictures of Bud And Lucky Playing and kissing. she thanked every one at YT for helping her out......... |
and so now they could begin, once again, to look for Lucky's parents and rescue them from that awful puppymill! So they |
Sally Started vaccuming for the lady next door. she payed her 10.00 dollars. She also started a....... |
dog walking service for the local neighborhood........and it went well for a few weeks but then..........something put an end to that job and she had to look for another way to make money! So she decided that |
she would try to sell stuff on Ebay. She soon came to realize that it had to be worth quite a bit of money after all the fees were subtracted from the profit. That ended soon also and then she decided it was time to..... |
once again turn to her YT friends and see if they had any suggestions on how to raise money so she could get little Lucky's parents out of the puppymill. As she was typing, the mailman delivered a letter from the very puppymill that Lucky had come from. Her eyes lit up and she slowly opened the letter and began to read. And it said........ |
..oh goodness....it said the name of a man that had been mentioned MANY times on YT as a puppymiller! But, oh, he had threatened to sue others for slander. Now what was she to do!!!???? |
She was very frightened just at seeing HIS name as she was aware of what he does.........and she was so sad and was crying to think that he may still have her little Lucky's parents..........so she continued to read to see why he had contacted her....maybe it was good news or maybe it was bad news. But she had to know so she kept reading and it said........ |
that he was having a CLEARANCE sale on his teacups! It wasn't anything personal to her, just a flyer advertising some New Year Blowout Sales on some of last year's left over puppies and sickly adults. Now this infuriated her and she.... |
was frightened too that one of the Clearance dogs might be her Lucky's mommy and daddy.......so she quickly ran to see if her mommy would ring up this puppymill owner and find out.......... |
Her mom said it could be and Ill try and help you find out, But where do I start? And if it is what do we do? |
They once again turned to YT for some help. There, with a lot of help and feedback formed the Puppy Mill Sleuther's or PMSers for short. So, the PMSers decided to..... |
(Yeah, leave the hard one for me!) See how many rescue societies who had available funds or foster groups they could find who would be willing to take the dogs this nasty man was offering to let go. Would there be enough funds to buy the dogs and how many could they rescue? The big questions Mr. Nasty had to answer, was "Did he have Lucky's parents?" and "Would he sell them to the rescue groups?" Finally, one of the PMSers reached Mr. Nasty and was able to ask him the long awaited questions..... |
Luckily, Lucky's parents were at the top of Mr. Nasty's get rid of list. So, he..... Teri:animal-pa |
was more than willing, as a matter of fact, eager to sell them to the local rescue group.........they had no more value to him anymore and didn't really care what happened to them. So that very day, the rescue group went and retrieved Lucky's mom and dad. But they needed some medical care before they could go to a forever home. Sally was happy she had found them and now wondered how she could somehow get them as her very own. So she called.......... |
the resue group and asked if there was anyway she could pay for them a little at a time. The wise lady at the rescue group spoke lovingly to Sally and explained that having 3 yorkies was an enormous responsibility. Even 1 is quite an investment of yourself and your resources. She reminded Sally that she had to get her parent's permission first and then provide food and beds and clothing and medical care and grooming and lots and lots of time to play with and train them. At last Sally began to understand that what she should do was start to look for good homes for the mommy and daddy yorkies. So, when she got off the phone, she... |
Hoped on to YT and put up a link to the Mom and Dad for all on YT to see. And told every one the story of who the were. The responces came flooding in........ |
There were just so many responses wanting to adopt the mommy and daddy who Sally had now named. Mommy was Tammy and Daddy was Tippy. So as she browsed through all the applicants and potential homes for them, Sally's daddy came in and said, WE CAN KEEP THEM ALL...........I've just won the lottery. We can move into a bigger place and we will all help take care of Lucky, Tammy and Tippy together! Little Sally's heart was beating out of her chest once again. But then....... |
the rescuers called Sally to let them know that they had found forever homes for Lucky's parents. So... Teri:animal-pa |
she remembered the two YT members that Tammy and Tippy were SUPPOSED to go to and her heart stood still. She had a very important decision to make. She realized that she must be growing up because she wouldn't have hesitated to keep them both before now. She had learned so much from this whole experience and got to see how many wonderful, loving people were touched by Tammy and Tippys story. Her Daddy said, "honey, what is the matter? I thought you'd be excited". (oops, Teri and I were typing at the same time) |
(no problem) She then sighed and told her dad that it would be selfish of her to try to get Lucky's parents when they were already promised to wonderful new forever homes.... Teri |
Wow, Sally's dad was so proud of her. He smiled gently and told her that he was very happy to see that she was growing into a very fine, caring young lady. He said that he would arrange with the rescue group for Sally to help deliver Tammy and Tippy to their new forever homes. Then she could see them and tell Lucky herself that she knew her parents were being well taken care of and loved. That evening, as they were finishing dinner, the door bell rang... |
Standing at the door was a man that they did not know. The man asked Sally's father if they had received a box not too long ago from a puppymill that had a yorkie inside dressed in a maltese costume? Well........... |
(Oooo - good one aren't you the rascal!) it turns out that box was supposed to be delivered to Massachusetts, not Maine. The letters of the state had been written wrong and since there was no zip code on the box, it went to the correct city in the wrong state. Isn't it interesting that there was also the same street name and number in those states? The man explained that he had been searching for the puppy for all these weeks because it belonged to his granddaughter and they were shipping it back to her from Abuja, Nigeria where they has been missionaries for several years. It had cost them alot of money to ship the puppy so far and the man was wondering... |
if they knew anything about it. Well, being honest people, they said yes, the package he was speaking of had arrived several weeks ago. But they had become so attached to the little Yorkie that they were interested in keeping her. The man looked surprised! But then he said that since he had already purchased another yorkie for his granddaughter, his only interest was that the yorkie was being well cared for. And he also wanted to receive some compensation for the shipping charges. The father looked at Sally, looked at Lucky and said...... |
"Sir if you can provide papers to prove this we will give you the shipping cost". The man then........ |
showed Sally's dad the shipping papers and Sally's dad paid him in full for the shipping cost. To celebrate Lucky being Sally's Yorkie forever, they..... Teri:animal-pa |
took Lucky to the pampered pooch for a spa visit. she was groomed and had a pedicure and got to play with other puppies. She looked so pretty with the Purple bow in her hair:) They then took her to a.............. |
