BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | why am I still having .... Pantic Attacks? Sunday we took are kids to the show and watched "Deck The Halls" A funny movie. In the middle of the movie I started feeling this headache coming on, then all of a sudden my body felt like it was heating up like the medicine icy hot. I tried to shake it off, take deep breaths but it wouldnt go away. After a few minutes I told my husband to come to the bathroom with me. We get to the bathroom and I start shaking so bad I could hardly stand up, my teeth was chattering and could not take any deep breaths. My mouth went extreamly dry, felt like I had a bag of cotton balls in my mouth. We never did get to finish the movie and we had a hour drive home, the whole time home I was shaking. I had no reason to have this attack, I was having a great evening and it came right out of the blue. I finally took the medicine my doctor prescribed (Paxil) but all it did was make me overly tired. Now last night I had another attack. I'm at my wits end with this, I dont know what to do, it's so scary. I even told myself last night that I was tired of this and wanted to end it. I have 3 beautiful daughters and a wonderful husband. I have to be out of my mind for saying crap like that! I went and talked to my counsler yesterday, everything was fine until that evening. I wish I could understand why I'm going through how I can make it go away! I'm so tired of it, there are days I dont even want to wake up and get out of bed. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have panic attacks too. They do sometimes come out of the blue for no apparent reason. My doctor gave me Ativan and finally I went on Zoloft. That really helped. I have to take the Zoloft everyday or I can feel a difference. I don't think anyone who has never had one can relate. They are so awful and you feel helpless. If you get on the right dose meds it can really change your life. You are not alone, I hope you can get some relief from these attacks.

| Please overcome those negative thoughts if you possibly can. It sounds like you have a wonderful life except for the panic attacks. I'm sorry I can't relate to the panic attacks, but I know what it is like to be depressed. I always get over it and regain my usual upbeat attitude. Remember there is always tomorrow and it will be better. Remember that your family and friends love you and need you. I will pray for you. - Jean

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | my counsler said once you have a pantic attack, your body is trained to have them and can go into them at anytime. Mine usually come in the evening and it sure makes it hard to sleep. |

I am so sorry to hear you are having panic attacks. PLEASE PLEASE!!! Be careful with Paxil....I was put on Paxil 4 yrs ago because of a verbally/mentally abusive boss. I had to resign from my job because of this person. After being on Paxil for 3 1/2 yrs I decided it was time for me to stop...I spoke to my doctor before taking myself off of it. ( I had cut the dose in half about 6 months before)...he told me I was taking a low enough dose and to just stop taking it.... O...MY...GOD!!! I went through such horrible withdrawls that I wanted to die....If I had been a suicidal person that would have been the time I would have done it...I missed 2 weeks of work, my husband had to take a FML to stay with me...It was horrible! Paxil is one of those meds that takes about a month to work...you have to take it everyday...you will feel tired for a couple of weeks but that will pass...then you will feel like new again...This is one medication that YOU MUST NOT STOP TAKING WITHOUT TALKING TO YOUR DOCTOR!! I would NEVER go on this again....Let me say it this way...I much rather would have the anxiety/panic attacks than to go through what I went through...Paxil did help me but, if I had read up on it BEFORE I took it I would have asked to be put on something else...When I hear someone is being put on Paxil the hair goes up on the back of my neck! Please read all the info on this that you can... Have you tried deep breathing...like lamaz breathing? or meditating? God I wish I lived closer...I would do what ever I could to help you through these attacks...I know first hand how horrible they are. I pray you get through them.

I stopped taking them back in May...I went back to work after 2 weeks but, really didn't feel "myself" for well over a month...At the end of my first week back to work they told me my position was eliminated!! YA RIGHT! (this is another story and too long to get into) so...I guess I chose the wrong time to go off the meds! but, I'm glad that I did...The only part I am sorry about is that I ever took them in the first place....Thanks for asking V! I still want to call and just blab with ya!...Hell! Maybe I'll just hop a plane and come down with the girls!! LOL! JK!

| I am sorry to hear about your panic attacks. I had experienced this for a short time. I hope you are seeing a psycharacist for the correct meds. I wish I had done this sooner than later. It was the right person to diagnose and treat me for my problem (my family doctor was way off course). If you want to know more, pm me. I will be glad to share. |

I know I can get through this. I had oppted not to take medication for these attacks, but after 2 days ago I was at my wits end. My doctor knows I'm scared of the side effects of Paxil, but he says he wants me on it for just a few months and then we will see how I'm doing. I'm not one to take medication, I just dont. Know I'm forced to take this crap. I have thought about looking for a support group who deals with the same thing. I may have to call the hospital and ask them if they know of one. | |

| You have probably considered other medical reasons but I thought I would mention some anyway. Our body is controlled by many hormones -- not just those sexy ones I used to get panic attacks with some very real physical symptoms. Long story short -- I had hypothyroidism. My symptom list was extensive and I had been treated individually for a handful of them -- taking all sorts of medications. Finally, my thyroid hormone pill took the place of them. Now I finally am treating the source of the problem and not each individual symptom. Hypothyroidism is not always easy to dx -- there are different types. It may have nothing to do with your panic attacks but I thought I would throw it out there. It took 4 years before the source of my problems was found and a couple more to get my meds right (I needed both T4 and T3). Just something to consider.

| I have some friends who get them. One of them gets them after he drinks, even if it's one beer so he doesn't drink anymore. My other friend wouldn't go out anywhere (besides school/work) because she was afraid of going somewhere, getting an attack and being alone and not in the comfort of her home. While I don't know what it's like to suffer from them, I have seen how it is, and I really hope you get better. They definitly don't seem like fun. Keep going to your counselor, and be strong! I know you can get through this, you seem like a strong person. I hope and pray you are able to overcome this.
