![]() Day 4 for me and 3 pounds are gone! I know it's just water weight right now but you have to get rid of that first and hey...I'm all for anything that lets me button that top button on my jeans and still feel comfortable! As for the pop question...I drink Diet Rite...I also still drink my coffee and I have decaf iced tea with Splenda. I need to look for some of that sugar free chocolate though!

![]() Also, I tried the cinnamon bun atkins bars with a cup of coffee. I actually kind of liked it. I don't usually like the atkins bars.

![]() My boyfriend and I went on the SouthBeach Diet in 2003 and I lost about 15lbs. I'd say that for the most part I kept if off but my weight still fluctuates 5-7lbs. He lost it fast but gained most of it back. My problem is that I have a sweet tooth and I missed fruits and my sweets--especially ice cream. There are sugar free ice creams but they just didn't taste the same to me ![]() Dana Carpender has really good low carb cookbooks--her first one was 500 low carb recipes. South Beach diet (the blue book) also has some tasty recipes. There should also be a TON online given the low carb craze of recent years. Let me know if anyone needs recipes because I have about 12 low carb cookbooks. sorry for the long post--i got carried away ![]() good luck to everyone ![]()

![]() I just want to share my exciting news!! I actually got a tear in my eye about this. LOL I just took my wedding ring off. That may not seem like a big deal BUT...I haven't been able to do that FOR 5 YEARS!!! Seriously, during my 2nd pregnancy i gained so much weight that I couldn't get it off and I havent since, my little boy is 5 years old...I'm embarassed, I have never admitted that to anyone. And now my finger is WARPED!! LOL I'm going to leave my ring off for a few days to let it breathe ![]() Last edited by chloeandj; 12-31-2006 at 02:21 PM.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | ![]() Ok so I've been ready recipes and meal plans for Atkins and South Beach. Do you have to follow these meal plans or can you just eat low carb and get the same effect. Half of these meals I've never even heard of! |

![]() No cereal or milk. They do have low carb versions of both. Like soy milk and soy chocolate milk and they have low carb cereal too, but it's also very soy tasting. I don't care for either but I know some do like it. For Atkins you do not have to follow any recipes at all. It can be as easy as just boiling chicken. The only rule is keep the carb count low. For the South Beach Diet, I have no idea. When reading labels to learn about carbs, you can subtract dietary fiber and also any sugar alcohols.

![]() Salt is ok, I don't know about Miracle whip. Mayonnaise is fine. Pickles and cucumbers are fine. A good way to determine what veggies are ok is the color. You can have any green veggie. Some are higher in carbs than others though. Carrots are high, potatoes are absolutely too high. Tomatoes should be in moderation.
