If you need a little motivation booster, you could try the 7 day mini cleanse my trainer put me on. I talk to him online but he is very legitimate. He is a professional bodybuilder and the women he helps look great (he is very familiar w/ the female metabolism). I did the cleanse and not only did I feel completely better, I lost 8 lbs. I'm sure it's mostly water weight but it's exactly the motivation I needed. Let me know if u want to know more.

and another message to everyone, check out www.bodybuilding.com and go into their supersite. Don't let the name fool you. There are tons and tons of articles on how to lose weight and fat. This is where most of my knowledge of fitness and dieting comes from. There is also a transformation section where regular women (like you ladies) have lost all their weight and formed themselves into toned women. They post their diets and exercise schedules as well.

I'm not into doing fancy stuff either. AFter a while of the same old stuff, it's nice to put a different flavor in your mouth though. And I like to try different recipes. You can do really simple on atkins. Hotdogs, hamburgers, boiled chicken, fried eggs, boiled eggs, sliced cheese, bacon. Honestly after a few days you completely feel NOT hungry and you find it to be a CHORE to eat. I usually make up a bunch of food at once, like boil up a pot of eggs and make a bunch of chicken and then I'll just nibble on it a little during the next few days and then I'll make up a bunch more when it's gone. I hate to cook and I especially hate to cook meat! I just peeled me two boiled eggs, I ate one and a 1/2 and threw the rest away. I feel stuffed! Last night we made hamburger patties and I had to force myself to eat just one. If nothing else you lose weight because you are not eating as much food. My appetite is already suppressed. That is the best!

Btw..why doesn't everyone just try simply eating healthy? Having a balanced meal instead of completely cutting out one of something. I don't mean to preach but the Atkins diet is horrible for you. I mean, do you really think it's healthy to lose weight by being able to eat bacon and sausage? And like everyone says, South Beach is too expensive and I bet Nutrisystem is too. I hired an online trainer and he laid out my meal schedule. All of them are balanced meals consisting of whole protein, complex carb, and fruit or whole protein, healthy fats, and cooked veggies. I find it much easier to do since I can still have certain carbs such as oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat tortillas, etc. I just really don't like to hear it when someone's doing the Atkins...Yes you're losing weight but not in a healthy way.

Every diet is not for everyone. It's important to find the one that is right for you and the one you can stick to. My husband loves this diet, he loves meat. He is now as healthy as he was the day I married him. He doesn't take 9 pills a day anymore and his cholesteral is almost back to normal, down from a range that was too high to even be calculated by the lab. I will do this diet to reach my goal and then maintain the weightloss with a way of eating that is more comfortable for me.

I'm going to try it I think after the new year. Your talking me into it I forgot to ask though...I'm a pop junkie....everyday I drink pepsi. Can I still drink it? Its my only source of caffiene. Also, what about chocolate? I get small cravings here and there.

You'll have to drink DIET. SOrry, but no sugar. You can buy sugar free chocolate that tastes really good, it gets me through my cravings.

I did the atkins diet 3 years ago and lost 28lbs very quickly which i kept off for 2 years but in this last year have put 14lb back on and would love to lose that again as i feel so uncomfortable.

I will be back on Atkins reallly soon. It is the only diet I have ever been successful with. I found that deviled eggs were a great substitute for sweet things. I usedHellmans mayo, just a dab of mustard and Splenda.

I have never thought to add splenda to deviled eggs. I will try that too!
