| MY doctor said that unfortunately "MOST" girls now are starting between 8-13, and that it is totally normal.

| Nothing to worry about...certainly not uncommon although she is young. I was 11 myself but I have heard many girls starting as young as 8 or 9...eeek my daughter just turned 9 lol...scary that our little girls are growing up!! I am sure you can find alot of information on the net though about young girls starting early.. Dawn |

| My granddaughter started showing signs (body odor and hair) when she was barely 8. My daughter took her to a pediatric endocrinologist and they did bone age tests on her, among other tests. They diagnosed her with percocious puberty and gave her medication to delay the onset of puberty since early puberty can decrease or stop bone growth, resulting in a shorter than normal adult (what I mean is shorter than she would be if not for early puberty). Anyway, she is now 10 1/2 and hasn't started yet - thank goodness. But I think it is not far away.

| I was 12, my daughter was also 12. I had a talk with my gynecologist about this last year because of an article I read about a 11 year old having a baby! He said the girls are developing younger and at his medical convention it was a big topic. They are not sure if it is all the hormones/additives in foods now or that children are developing earlier because of environmental changes? Interesting though...I would take her in for a complete exam..give you piece of mind!

| Thank you so much guys, yeah I don't like it because she is my oldest but she is my baby, and I don't want her growing up any way more less starting now. I will most definitely give you an update when I take her to the Dr.
