| For the women: What age did your "visitor" come? I was just wondering because my eight year old is showing signs. Yeah I know it is not too often but wanted to know. She has pimples and blackheads on her face, bad body odor and she already has hair. Sorry admin. delete if i am to graphic, not trying to be. And the past two days she said her stomach has been hurting, today i asked her exactly where it hurts at and she pointed to the spot right above her privates, i then asked her if she hurt anywhere else and she rubbed her lower back. I started when i was 13, my mother when she was 10. What do you guys think? I am going to make her an appointment next tues, because my mom said they can check her to see if she is getting ready. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!

| I was thirteen, my daughter was 11 and my best friend was 9. My daughters doctor said when all they start getting hair, and a bit of a lump in the breast then they usually start within 6 months to a year. I knew a couple months before my daughter started. She was having very tender breast, stomach and back ache, and was so danm moody. Good luck, she is so young I hope she has awhile.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I started right before my 14th birthday but I was normally very very thin like 93 lbs at 5ft 6, which they say can affect your period. My dtr showed signs at 8 and got her period at 9 1/2. She is 5ft 2 and about 135 lbs Once she got her period she never grew an inch taller. She went from being one of the tallest in her classes to one of the shortest.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I was 12. My daughter is 11 and hasn't gotten her's yet. Not wanting to frighten you but 8 is pretty young. If she's starting to develop in other areas, I'd ask the doctor to run tests on her pitutary gland to make sure it's developing correctly.

| Wow...everyone was so young when they started. My first was when I was 17. And then I didnt get it again until I was almost 21. I did see the doctor and he said nothing was wrong with me, but put me on BCP to see if it would regulate. 8 is extremely young I think. I would definatly ask about that. Perhaps its something other than what you think. |

| It was a month before my 15th birthday!! My daughter started when she was 13. I have heard of much younger girls starting. It is becoming more and more common, unfortunately.

| I was 10, but... girls do seem to be starting younger today. I've got a friend with a daughter who started at nine. One of my neices was 10. Every girl is different, but eight does seem young.
