| We "southern belle's" stay inside!!! The snow we got a couple of weeks ago is still out there!! It's brutally cold out there and the most that Toto and I do is look out the window! Why would anyone go out there when it's toasty warm in here! duhhhhhh! My Patrick always refers to me as his "Steel Magnolia" ..... if he only knew that deep down I'm just a wussy spoiled southerner who longs for the sunshine that actually warms you!!! You can stand in the sun here on the western slope of Colorado and not even feel it!! I had been looking forward to going home for the Holidays .... well, talked to DIL this afternoon and I believe she said it's like 20 degrees ..... now I don't want to be anywhere!!!!

| SNOW! only good when inside looking out! Quote:
I loved it when the schools were closed ... I still got paid ... but NYC does not close the schools so quickly. They still do not comprehend that the kids live nearby, but the teachers live further out on Long Island ... Dang! So they have a ratio of 54 kids to 1 teacher (those who do live nearby and walk a mile in the snow there) I get my hot chocolate and watch out the window as cars try to go up the hill .....

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Oh, Vee! I'm right with ya, sista! I can't stand this cold crap! We live in SOUTH Texas for God's sake!!!! I step outside and EVERYONE that walks by can tell I'm cold (my twins tell on me!) It SLEETED here Friday night! Of course, kids thought it was snow but sleet SUCKS!!!!! It snowed here a couple of years ago...on Christmas Eve and it was all melted the day AFTER Christmas. That's the snow that I like. Here long enough to enjoy it and then *POOF* it's gone! Thank God I gave up smoking...I didn't smoke in the house and it's too freakin cold to go outside!

| It can get cold here in Montana, but the nicest thing about it is that we have all the extremes. It can range from a high of 100 in the summer to a low of -40 in the winter. We have the most beautiful seasons. I usually do not wear an outer coat until it is around 20. I guess I have just gotten used to the cold. I visited Houston a few years ago and I was in a department store when I heard the clerk say it was cold in there. I asked why they just didn't turn up the heat. She told me the store had no heater just air conditioner. I had never heard of such a thing. Hahaha It took me a while for that concept to sink in. That was about as bad as me asking for a Pepsi in Atlanta. How stupid. Next month I am going to China, who knows what foolish thing I will say! |

| How Do You Do It? Very carefully! That snow is pretty, but I view it kinda like babysitting someone else's baby. It's great and fun, but it's always nice to know that they're not yours and you can go home alone at the end of the day. So to vacation where there's snow, is most ideal, not having to live w/ it for a full season is the tough part. |

| It's baaaack!!!! We had a pretty good "melt" yesterday .... I could actually see my car!! Poor baby ... it's first winter outside! Patrick flew home for a few days to spend a little time with his Dad .... Toto and I are "on our own" in this Godforsaken place! We had a nice playdate planned for today with 5 Yorkiefriends along with a little shopping .... 50 miles away at the nearest mall. It began to rain yesterday afternoon ... stopped about the time it got dark ... I thought there might be a little ice today and it would probably melt off. Lost my satellite signal, looked out the window again ..... KRAP!!!! Giant snowflakes!!!! I grabbed my coat .... waded out to the satellite and sprinkled a cup of that stuff that melts ice and got my signal back!! According to the forecast, it's supposed to snow all day! Krap!!! Krap!!! Krap!!! Sorry to whine .... I am not a "country girl"!! Anytime we have ever lived where it snowed .... they cleared the roads and sidewalks/parking lots .... not here!!

| Potty out side only..... What do i do when we are in the middle of a major blizzard... it has been dawning on me that while it's snowing really hard I have no idea how Chewy will potty... He won't use pee pads and even though he has a roof over his potty area when the wind blows the drifts will come right in!!!! I was thinking I could start a litter pan in the basement and see if he will go in it once in a while to get him used to it... Can this work in a emergency??? What can I do????
