| Now look Kristy, the first thing we are going to have to change is your outlook on YOURSELF!!! You are a pretty woman. And you can wear your hair any way you want to, it's just learning how to manipulate it. With that cut (Meg Ryan), you could just blow dry it with a big round brush and that's it. Put a little wax or something in there to break it up and give it some texture. And as for little Miss Hairdresser......for every idea that she shoots down, she should have another one to suggest for you instead. Honesty doesn't always have to mean negative feedback.

| I just got my haircut last wednesday very similar to that. I have even been told that my hair is very Meg Ryan . Which to me is a great compliment.I LOVE MEG! Spending time on yourself will make you feel better. I got a haircut and my nails done last week, made me feel like a new person. Today I'm going to get a much needed pedicure. Quote:

| Before you get your hair cut try this. Go out & buy Dove styling cream for curlie hair (this is what I use, styling cream is better than gel or mouse cause it won't make it crunchy). Scrunch it into wet hair. Turn head upside down & blow dry on medium heat with a defuser (sorry sp?). Blow dry til dry, this should take maybe 5 minutes at the most. Use fingers to maneuver into place when done & hairspray. Give this a try on a day when you don't have to look presentable in case you don't like it. This works for my hair & it might work for yours. It's at least worth a shot.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Girl - HUSH UP and stop being so hard on yourself ! Mandy gave you some great tips - I have the opposite problem - mine is WAY too curly and you are lucky you have straight hair cause you have CHOICES !! I agree bangs would go really nice on your face and I think a total makeover is in order so you will feel better about YOU. You have nothing to be ashamed of except maybe listening to your hairdresser too much - GO FOR THE CHANGE !! I like the highlights idea - and girl - I do my own hair cause I just don't see spending money on it - so take advantage of having your own hairdresser and go all out !!! |

| I usually don't comment on styling questions but in this case, I can't help myself. You have no "ugly" in you, girl! You have great features but that hairstyle does need help! First off -- get rid of that almost down the center part. Try something on the side with wisps on the forehead -- sort of almost bangs. A Meg Ryan look would look terrific on you. I thought of it right off and then saw several others commented on it -- so it must be a look a lot of people would like on you. So, a shorter cut, lose the center part, lots of wispiness, learn to use a little gel, mousse, or styling cream -- blow dry from underneath and you will be amazed with yourself. Start thinking right now where you will get taken out to dinner to celebrate the great new "do." Oh, and you might just have to buy a new outfit to show it off. LOL -- can I think of ways to spend money, or what?

| Your hubby is right -- but even nature can use a little help. We prune our rosebushes, mow the grass, and style our hair. Sometimes it is the right style that actually cuts down on the daily maintenance. Mine is pretty short. I have tried to grow it out many times and it is just too much work. I like to wash it, blow it dry and forget it. In fact, I can wash it, fluff with my fingers and forget it a lot of the time too. This works the best for me in the summer because we have a pool. No worries over a quick dip. I am sure yours will look terrific no matter what you come up with. You have a very pretty face.
