| Well, I'm a "hair girl" , so I'll chime in here. First of all, like everyone has sd., you are NOT ugly. Yeah, your hair needs help , but you have great features. And I happen to think that our society has really gone overboard emphasizing "perfect" teeth. I LIKE imperfect teeth. I think they give a face character. You sound like you're a little down on yourself....feeling a little mousy. I say it's time to give yourself a little makeover! It doesn't have to cost a lot of money! People are always going on and on about my clothes, and I'm telling you 99% of them come from the Goodwill. And most of the rest are off the $3 WalMart clearance rack. The thing is to stay true to YOURSELF, but just bump it up a bit. So, you're casual and low maintainance. There are all SORTS of fun or classic (whatever your personality is!) casual looks. The most important thing is ATTITUDE! OWN your look, girlfriend. It doesn't matter if you look like the models in the magazines! Hold your head up high, and BE the person to BE! Look at the singer Jewel....or the actor Colin Firth...their teeth aren't perfect, and they have the money to fix them, but they choose to embrace what makes them unique. For me, I personally can't feel confident in myself if my HAIR isn't right, and my SHOES aren't right , so let's talk about the hair! You've gotten lots of great advice, and most of it is exactly what I was thinking of for you. Number one, sounds like you need to find SOMEONE else to cut your hair! EXTENSIONS?!?! Oh brother!!! And if you wear your hair pulled back all the time anyway....what difference is it going to make if you cut it short?! I think that Meg Ryan look would be great for you, or even something a little more basic. A short (about earlobe length) blunt bob, and then long bangs parted DEEP on the side. Like people have sd., adding a little color to your hair will give it more body. But probably the most important thing will be for you to learn how to use PRODUCT. Do you watch the show "What Not to Wear"?! That's what Nick, the hairstylist, calls it. He seems to do a lot of people with your basic hair type, and shows them how just using "product" (for body and some hold) and blowdrying can make a world of difference. FOCUS ON YOURSELF, girl. Not because you NEED it, but because you DESERVE it.

| Ah! You have such a pretty face! My hairdresser does the Helix cut. I remember when she went back east to learn how to do it. My hair is thick, so I have never gotten one, but I have seen her do it on other people. The Helix gives the look of a perm, I think, without getting a perm and gives the look of thicker hair. Just a thought! She's here in town and has her own shop if you are interested. She's quite trendy.

| Ok, take the advice. I'm the same way as you. Very critical of myself. I love having my hair done, but I am soo hair illiterate it's sad. I get these cute cuts and never can reproduce them. Any of you lovely hair dressers in my area?

| Sorry I'm bombarding you with pictures of my sister, but here she is when she first got it. It was longer, but she cut it, and I don't think she straightened it this day! LOL

| I think you have beautiful features. The contours of your face are lovely...and your blue eyes are gorgeous! Don't be so hard on yourself. Makeup, I find, makes the world of difference in how I feel. If I'm having a down day, I find I always feel better when I put my make-up on...always! Go to a stylist who knows what they're doing and leave yourself in their capable hands. Have a makeover. Aside from getting a 'new' look, it's always tons of fun to do! |

| You have beautiful features! You have an oval face, which is the best shape you can get. You've had a lot of advice here but I'm going to throw my .02 in. You need to go shorter and wispy with wispy bangs. There are lots of products out there that will give you great volume. You also need a different stylist. One you can talk to. Go thru magazines and find several styles you like and take them with you. A good stylist will look at the pics and help you choose one that will work with your hair. Good luck and please post an after shot!
