| Christmas trees, real or fake? Ok who does real and who does fake? My folks got a fake tree couple years ago and I keep teasing them that it's un American. I love real trees, but I can't seem to keep them from drying out before Christmas. My kids would kill me if I got a fake tree too. They like the tradition of going and cutting one down. My youngest has informed me this year that if I ever get to the point that I can't get my own tree, she will make sure that wherever she is that she will get my tree for me. I must be doing something right. LOL It seems that so many already have their trees up and for those who do are they real and then.. how do you keep them from dying before Christmas?

| We always did real, but two years ago, bought a huge tall one for our new house on sale and that is what we now use.....until it starts to look yucky! Plus, in our new house, we have the wood heat (fire place) and my DH is paranoid about having a real cedar in the house! --since they dry out so fast. I tried to tell him that w/ me being home all day, it would always have water in it, but then his excuse was that since all three of the big dogs come in, it would be knocked over!! Men.........

| Well.... Always as a kid, we would hop out the back door into the woods and find our own "Charlie Brown" Christmas Tree. But, my hubby has never allowed us to get one because his friend a long, long time ago brought a live tree into his nice warm house and a nest of Preying Mantis hatched and was all over the place. Fake trees are more economical because if you buy one and take care of it, it lasts a longggg time. It saves our forests. But, if you can find a real tree that has roots and can be planted after Christmas, I would want a real one. Teri

| I have always grown up with the fake and i have always had one. This year I am thinking about getting a whit one and decorating it with blue or clear lights, and having the colors of blue, red and silver on it, I dont know about all the needles and stuff on the floor and keeping it watered, maybe when the kids leave home and we have one for them and the grandkids to come home to then maybe i will try a real one.

| Fake because of allergies. Our fake tree is very fake looking though because it wasn't very expensive and it's about 3 or 4 years old so it's really time for a new one - but the nice looking ones cost $250-$400!!!

| I used to be a "real-tree lover", but after having to pay over $100 per tree each year...I switched over to the fake tree. It's pre-lit, don't have to move the presents to water it, don't have to worry about it turning brownish or getting dried out. (I still love the real tree smell though)

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Fake! We have gotten real ones but the needles always make a mess and my mom hates to clean them. We have a small fake one but nxt yr or when there is a sale after the holidays maybe I will spend for a REALLY nice big fake one like my dad has in his house. |

| We have had a fake tree since I was about 10. I like it better. I don't like the way evergreens smell and they are just a mess. I even have a small fake tree for my apartment at school |
