| Here's what I have always done: Wash seeds good; dry as good as you can Melt a few TB butter in skillet Toss in seeds and stir until lightly golden Remove from skillet and add to cookie sheet (single layer) Sprinkle w/ salt or salt/garlic powder or whatever else you want. Oven is normally set @ 300 for 40min or until lightly browned. Does anyone eat the shell and all? We roasted some for our Halloween party and my brother-in-law ate the whole thing.....said it was easier? We have always eaten them like sunflower seeds (spit out the shell). As anyone made any that they had taken out of the shell? I thought about that, but figured it would take FOREVER to do it that way.

| Thanks.. I've been waiting 3 hours for a reply!!! LOL I usually butter them and cook 'em but I wanted to see what everyone else does. I don't necessarily wash them real good either, because I think having a little pumpkin ads to the taste. We eat the whole thing. It's too hard and time consuming to shell them. I'm going to try them in the skillet like you suggested.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I've always overcooked mine a bit - I like everything slightly burnt - and eat them shell and all - if they're cooked to a crunch - they're perfect that way |

| Excellent ideas. I'm going after work and hope there are still some pumkins left.

| I've always baked them without rinsing, and then eat the shell and all. Always good with salt on them while baking. I know they take awhile. We carved a pumpkin last night but didn't cook the seeds. Too tired after a long weekend away.
