Here's what I have always done:
Wash seeds good; dry as good as you can
Melt a few TB butter in skillet
Toss in seeds and stir until lightly golden
Remove from skillet and add to cookie sheet (single layer)
Sprinkle w/ salt or salt/garlic powder or whatever else you want.
Oven is normally set @ 300 for 40min or until lightly browned.
Does anyone eat the shell and all?
We roasted some for our Halloween party and my brother-in-law ate the whole thing.....said it was easier?
We have always eaten them like sunflower seeds (spit out the shell).
As anyone made any that they had taken out of the shell? I thought about that, but figured it would take FOREVER to do it that way.
