He says they aren't healthy at all. He said that the colon was made to have feces in it. That is how we are built. There is no need to do cleanses because your body is built to cleanse everything for you....your colon, your liver, kidneys all act as cleansing agents and they rid your body of toxins naturally...you are already cleansed. When you do things like these commercial cleanses, it messes up these functions that are already taking place in your body. As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, Dr. Oz (cardio-thoracic surgeon) was on Oprah the other day talking about how cleanses were not good for you. | |

| I think Kathryn V did one or something somewhat similar. Do a search for the thread.

| My aunt did it for 15 days straight, then replaced 2 meals a day with the drink for 2 months. She lost 50 lbs, and said she was never hungry. The weight hasn't come back, but she also switched to raw vegan food. I tried it, and got past 4 days. Lost 5 lbs in those 4 days, 2 came back the following day but the rest stayed off. |

| I respect your husband's opinion, but not all doctors will have the same opinion. I have a very good M.D. friend that practices holistic medicine as much as possible. She does cleanses herself. As you said, to each their own. |

| Sorry if I came off as harsh. I really wasn't trying to be. I just wanted to offer a different side of the spectrum. Please don't take anything I said personally. Different people have different opinions and that is completely fine. To each their own. |

| Right you are!!! I did do it!!! And it was awesome!!! My little sister is on day 8 of it right now!!!! And my mom is on day 3.... lol I am waiting for all of my meds to stablize before I can do it again.... Its really a great cleanse.... Weight loss is a nice side effect! But not the best reason to do it! The real reason is the cleansing!!!! Its a great cleanse!!! The secret is not to back off on how much you dring towards the end, whick is easy to do!!! If you do you'll get weak!! You MUST get at least 6 glasses a day!!!! At least!!!! No skimping!!! And at 8 days my sis has lost 13 pounds... but she feels amazing!!! And I lots a ton too... and have lost even more since I broke the fast.... Cause I cut out the crappy foods!!! I did not want to put teh crap I just cleaned out back into my body!!!! Its been a real good thing for me!!! I've gone from 267 and now I am 175.... I just keep losing.. and I can thank the fasting and the raw foods that I switched to after the fasts.... Its changed my life!!!! Its extreme... yes... But so is weighing 267!!! lol

I bought my maple suyrp from Trader joes! They carry the organic and then their brand... its very reasonably priced.... My pepper... the grocery store, they had organic.... the lemons, you don't HAVE to go organic, cause your only using the inner part of the fruit, so you can go to your regular grocery store for those too... and you can also use limes just to mix it up and some times of the year limes are much easier to get, cheaper and hold much more juice then the lemons do... and they have the SAME cleansing benefits... I did 50-50 lemon and lime.... some days lemon some days lime... it helped me keep it fresh! I was not totally board... Now for the salt.... I bought two different kinds... and yes it made a difference!!!! I first bought from the grocery store... sea salt, un iodized.... it tasted awful, but it got the job done! ugh! then i read about and ordered Celtic light grey sea salt... the brand was Celtic... it made life sooooo much better... my salt water flushes tasted more like warm cambles chicken noodle soup broth, just a tad saltier.... but it was smooth... and it was not as awful as the other... and now its all I use in my food prep... we don't keep any other king of salt in the house.. I had to buy a special ceramic grinder to put on the table so we could use the salt at meals... its that good.... You can find it on ebay.... Celtic light grey sea salt..... No substitutions... Its a little pricy, but it will last forever and its worth its weight in gold! its not crazy expensive or anything... its just not cheap... its hand harvested.... Oh and the best tea to drink every night... cause you need to do that too... is Smooth move... It will loosen everything for the salt water flush the next morning... and if you make it exactly like the package says, you won't have any cramping like with most of those teas! So don't over steep it!!!! So.... did I leave anything out???? Its important for the best "cleansing" that you make each glass fresh... do not make king size batches (enough for a day or two) and expect any of those enzymes to stay alive for hours on end in your cold fridge or your jug waiting for you to drink it..... You need to make it fresh and drink it fresh so it can work in your body fresh.... The stuff that sits around is just not as hard working as the stuff you make fresh! So I guess thats it..... Oh!!! And when it comes to breaking the fast!!! Don't have cambles chicken soup orange juice and a good humor chocolate dipped icecream cone! My sister called me up writhing in pain last night! Stupid idiot ate all of that on her fast breaking day..... I told her she deserved the cramps.... she was a morom! She asked me the day before how to break it and I told her.... the first day.... Stay on the lemonade and add a glass of Orange juice for each meal.... next day, while still drinking lemonade, oj for breakfast and Strained veggie broth for lunch... veggie broth for dinner.... day three.... Some water melon for breakfast! Still drinking lemonade... Veggie soup with some veggies, don't over do it... and for dinner depending on how you did at lunch have the veggies for dinner from the soup... day four... use your best judgment... you should be back on a veggie diet... no whoppers with cheese please!

| Gross, but kind of funny I looked up more info on this yesterday when I saw this thread and I kept seeing SWF (salt water flush) everywhere...support sites, mainly. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what "SWF" stood for and all I could think of was "Silent Wet Fart" and I thought WHY in the WORLD would someone want to start something that caused that. What was really funny was people were so happy about "making it through their first SWF" and "the SWF weren't as bad as they thought..." |

| It looks like bamafan121s has been looking at some support sites... she may have a few links for you.... Or just type The Master Cleanser Into Google and you'll find plenty! It was written by a man nammed Stanley Boughrous (I so butchered that last name!!!) And you can buy the booklet online for under 5 buck at alot of sites.... Its really helpfull to have the book!!!! Cause there is ALOT OF MISINFORMATION out there.. and it is a bit extreme as most people will point out to you... so doing it to the letter and doing it right is the only safe and sane way to do it! But I've done plenty of them and they are not going to harm or kill you as long as you do it the way it is meant to be done.... GET THE BOOK... The right info! Its a little yellow Booklet! Been around Forever!
