Quick cooking question So I was boiling potatoes and eggs for potato salad and I had to leave the house. After they were done boiling I put the potatoes (skinned still but cooked) in a bowl in the microwave and the boiled eggs(still shelled) in the fridge. I did this on Friday night. Do you think th eggs and potatoes will still be good to make potato salad today? Or should I play it safe and start all over again? I just hate wasting food if I don't have to! Sorry if it seems like a dumb question. I never really cook, this is my first time making potato salad and I'm pregnant so I don't want to get sick! Thanks to anyone who replies!

Thanks! I had just thought I had heard of people keeping hard-boiled eggs in the fridge but I wasn't sure how long they last.

I took a cooking class about this stuff.. scent the eggs are cooked, they are fine.. you can eat them up to a week after you cook them... The potatoes on the other hand, have had time to grow icky thing that will make you sick, so toss thous OUT. U could have used them IF you stuck them in the ice box to cool down faster so it would not have time to grow things. It the essayist way to explain it with out going into the whole temp. thing of when are how hot or cool it has to be or not be to grow icky stuff on your food... Oh BTW I know this INFO bc I am studding to be a chef. Have fun cooking!! Next time put the potatoes in the frig and u can use them up to 2 days after you cook them!!
