| I don't know what is wrong with me? I'm so frustrated. For the last few months, at least once a week, I toss and turn, then wake up at 230, throw up real bad, then fall asleep at almost 4, before waking up at 630 for work. I have no idea why I'm waking up randomly and throwing up. It happened again last night, after I just had it last friday. I have gone to the doctor and they did blood tests and everything, but nothing is showing. So here are the things I've discovered: 1. I'm not pregnant, cause I just finished my period 2. It's not expired/bad food 3. It could be related to my hypothyroidism 4. It could be some sort of food allergy 5. It could be some sort of gastro intestinal issue 6. Blood tests came back normal 7. Urine came back normal Anyone else gone through this or know what I should be looking for? I'm going crazy, I feel like a zombie at work and I just feel sick. I need this to stop. I am working with my thyroid specialist but I like to do my own research on the side to provide for him as well. Any ideas?

| This EXACT same thing was happening to my sister AND me! My sister went through this her WHOLE life, and I started experiencing this later on during college. We were both diagnosed with Acid Reflux. Some things we ate just triggered it and laying down makes it worse and then the acid gets backed up in your esophogus and you throw you. We were both put on Nexium. If I ever don't take my Nexium, I throw up. I take it religiously. Same with my sis. If she takes her meds, she is perfectly fine! This may or may not be what is causing you to be ill, but I certainly hope it is nothing serious and that you are all well very soon! |

| Oh, and I might want to add that 90% of people who have acid reflux don't even know it because it does not always manifest itself as "acid." Sometimes you will get a persistent cough, sometimes you will be nauseous, and the symptoms go on and on. It can be very dangerous if it goes on undetected...it can cause esophegeal cancer and can errode your esophegous. |

| I don't know if its acid reflux but it doesn't happen every night, usually just once or twice a week. It's so annoying. Not to be gross but because it's usually 4-6 hours after my meals (I don't eat later than 7pm), no food comes up, just liquids, and it's like totally coming out of my nose, and mouth. I just don't know what is triggering it. Today I decided to start a food journal, that way next time it happens, I can cross reference and see what kinds of foods can be triggering it, if infact it's food related. I have no idea. On top of it I have a lump on my thyroid, so my doc says that could be causing it too.

| It has happened to me with acid reflux. What helped me a little is elevating my head more at night and not eating the foods that triggered it. |

| When acid reflux was causing my sister and me to both get sick, it was not every night. There were definately foods that would trigger it. Kudos to you for keeping a food journal!!!!! BTW, since you're not throwing up food, this is another sign that it could be acid reflux....you're only throwing up acid, right? That means that there's excess acid in your tummy. There is more than is needed to digest the food and it is coming up and causing irritation. Hope it is something that is easily fixable and nothing serious. |

| I had lump on my thyroid.. thank god will meds. it went done... But I really dont think its that. My family has a history of thyroid prob. and no one in my family has ever had anything like this wrong with them, having a thyroid prob... I could be wrong but IMO I dont think it has to do with your thyroid. thyroid mostly just contraltos your hormones... I dont think it has to do with tossing your cookies... maybe with keeping you up late but it would be every night not now and then... I am sleepy all the time bc of it.. if I dont take my pill I can sleep all day and night and still want to go back to sleep! and all this time My mom thought I was just lazy lol |

| I'm sorry that you're not feeling well. I think it may be acid refelx because that happened to my BF a few months ago several time a week. He found he had acid reflex and took these over the counter meds..I forget what they are called but I'll ask him later when he gets back and now he's fine. Hope you find the cause! I'll post the med name later. I remember it started with a P...

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | My husband does the same thing and they think he has acid reflux to talk to your doctor about this and see if you can try a medicine to see if this is really acid reflux.
