| Cant walk out my door, to walk my babies with out...~Need to Vent!! I NEED TO VENT!!! Every time I take my babies out for a walk, its like I cant even get out my gate with out someone wanting to pick up or pet my babies!! Its starting to frustrate me!! I want my dogs to be Social and they are! I run a small doggy daycare out of my home for military famlies. But I dont want them to be OVERLY Social with people, Ya know?!? Even thou there are thousands of people who LOVE dogs, there are also a lot out there who dont and I dont want my babies to think they can run up to every person, not knowing that ONE person HATEs or are afraid of dogs. I dont want them to get hurt. I try not to let them get close to people when I walk them. trying to get them NOT want to be petted by EVERY one who walks by, but then I get these evil looks or they just come across the ST. to pet them. I even had a lady fallow me for like a block just to pet them. And that cute and all but when it happens EVERY DAY!! Every time I take them out. which is like 3 times a day not including just taking them out in my front yard to go potty AND!! people stopping and watching them. Even call them to the gate, which P!$$$ me OFF the most! Its driving me a little crazy here! Its feels like I am living in a glass house or something! How do you tell a person HEY!! Dont touch my dog with out saying HEY dont touch my dog. I have tried, telling them no when they ask to pet them or pick them up. I have tried just ignoring them, which half the time I dont mean to scent I dont speak or understand german very well. How do you be nice about it when its happens every time I walk out my door? Why do people think they can just pick up or pet someone else dog!? With out even asking!! even if it is 3lb!! They can still bite! Even thou mine wont hurt a fly, but still ya know!!! Who gave them this right!!???!! |

| I know exactly how you feel. I tried walking to my mailbox the other day (I live in an apt so it is down the street a little), and I got stopped by 6 people with their dogs wanting to hold and pet my 2! Now first of all, I don't know WHAT kind of diseases or whatnot their dogs have, and I don't want my 2 little ones anywhere NEAR their dogs! But how am I supposed to be nice about it? By the way, I didn't ever make it to the mailbox! It was dark by the time everyone stopped me and my dogs were TIRED OUT from all the visiting, so I just had to turn around and go home. That's the last time I'll ever try to take them with me to the mailbox! |

| It is VERY annoying one lady just grabbed my dog out of my arms and said do you want her, I looked at her like she was crazy and said of course and that I needed to go. What really annoys me is my dog will start licking them all over and be all happy with them. Not to be mean but I don't know where those peoples hands or mouths have been . I don't really mind the petting but I HATE when they just pick them up. What I do now is tell everyone I'm in a rush and I have to leave, or I just put her in her bag. But heck we have cute little furballs and eveyone loves them can you blame them

| yeah I'd know how u feel. I'm to the point were I hardly take them out around my block during daytime. We have alot of little kids around here. And whenever they see me they ask for my dogs and why how come they hardly see them anymore. I mostly let them out in my backyard its big enough for them to run away. When i first brought the house its the first thing on my mind is to have a big yard for my dogs to play in. yeah I'm sorry to hear you have to go through that, it really does suck big time. |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | It's good to vent about it, I sure know how you feel, I was at a outside ice cream stand and had Lillie with me and this "grown" lady runs, and I mean runs over to me just a screaming "omg omg, just look at her, omg ohh she is just so cute" freaks me out and I thought she was going to grab her out of my arms. but it's the same questions over and over, is she a teacup? where did I get her? how much did I pay? and when I say where I got her, they always ask why I went to a different town so far away, why I didnt buy local... I love taking Lillie out and having her be socialized and I dont mind the smiles and aww she is so cute, but people need to respect us, I really don't want a lot of people touching her, she loves to lick and I just dont want her to have there germs. But what can we do? I don't want to be rude to people and I'm very proud of Lillie and I'm glad everyone thinks she is so cute. |

| I don't mind most of the time. I think it's a good opportunity to educate these people about Yorkies and dogs in general. You can tell who is experianced with dogs and who's not. For the ones who are not I let them know Jazzie is very friendly but the best way to approach a dog they don't know is to _____ and I'm done. My walks around a 1/2 mile block usually takes us about an hour because we get stopped but I enjoy the conversation as much as Jazzie like the attention. My greatest joy comes from children who are scared of dogs and helping them realize not all dogs are scary. The look of surprise, joy, pride in their little face is priceless when they first touch Jazzie soft hair or get their first doggie kiss!

| Hmmmmmm... I may be putting my foot in my mouth here... but really guys???? Poor us??? We have the cutest dogs in the world... Some of us do their hair, keep them brushed, dress them, and go to great lengths to maximize the cuteness factor! And you DON"T want people to gush and fall all over your dog? I have to admit... I had a bit of an issue with kids poking and wanting to pick up my girls at the ball fields when my daughter was playing Softball... It was a total pain in the a$$... So I stopped bringing them... which I did not like... two weeks later I bought a stroller! So I could take them and nobody could touch them! No kids could poke and they could still come and enjoy the game!! I could have them out if I wanted and then zip them up for a "rest" or "nap" when ever I felt like it... But seriously.... I have two Yorkies.. Not two German Shepards... if you had a Shepard.. I'm sure nobody would be running across the street to kiss it!! or calling it to the gate!! And they surely would never try to pick it up!!! But we don't have Shepard.... We have high profile Fru Fru dogs!! Pampered Pooches that make even the biggest men melt at the mere sight of them!!!! But seriously... We all chose an irresistible breed... Can we really fault people for not being able to resist them??? If you want them protected from the hands and lips of would be strangers... Don't expose them... Put them in a purse or stroller... or better yet... scoop them up before they do! But if you want a long term solution... set ground rules! All of my neighbors know that they are NOT allowed to pick up my dogs... Simply because a drop could seriously hurt them... And I have explained this to them all when they were introduced to my girls... They know... you have to sit on the ground if you want to hold them... Its silly... and not very many of them will plop down in the grass just to hold them... So its worked out very nicely! And they have all coached their kids as well.... Nobody tries to pick them up... I've only been here 4 months now... And slowly but surely I've met almost everyone on my block cause of my babies! And I rattle off a few do's and donts.. and a nice to meet you!!! Its worked so far!!! (no treats, no human food, no kisses... its a germ thing! lol) I laugh and they laugh... But I get my point across... Ok, so being in a foreign country.. I see how that could be a bit tough!! Language barrier and all... I'd get someone to translate your wishes and have it written down and print out copies!!! And then keep them on you, something funny, lighthearted but to the point.. and make your wishes known! Smile and laugh and they can laugh with you! Most people will understand, and those who don't... screw um... they still need to know how you feel!! Or you could just trade your Yorkie for a Shepard.... JK

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I feel everyone's pain, but in the end I agree with Kathryn_V. We own a cute breed. People would have to be brain dead not to be curious about them. It's usually kids I have problems with, but as soon as I see them swarming, I set the ground rules. You can pet them, but don't pick them up. Then, when it's time to go, I'm firm about it. If anyone is grabby, I pick up my dogs and carry them away.

When I walk Sadie I have people coming up to me oooooing and awwwwing! I don't have a problem with that. I don't get people wanting to pick her up so often though, they will usually sit on the ground and play with her and, of course she goes out of her mind kissing and hopping around like a bunny! I agree with you..they are the cutest little dogs around and everybody is interested in them and ask all kinds of questions but, if someone asks to hold her (usually a child) I just explain that she is very active and I wouldn't want them to drop her and have her get hurt. I just tell them to sit down and she will go to them...this usually works.

| It does work 90% of the time.... but nothing is 100% anymore When I'm in the mood to be social, I dress them up extra special and I go out and meet tons of new people!!!! Its so much fun!!! But when I'm not "in the mood" I opt for the bag or stroller... and dart in and out undetected!!! all sly like! lol They are like having Mini Movie Stars at our sides!!! Its a tough job, but somebodys got to do it!

| i love it when people go nuts over lexi .... it doesnt bother me, lets face it, these dogs are just so adorable how can you not want to hold them.. i would do the same if i saw a yorkie,, i still do even though i have lexi.. what does bother me is when i walk her and some people dont even acknowledge her as she passes by them wagging her tail and tongue... that annoys me to no end , then i say to myself wow they must not like animals and it kinda pisses me off.... how can you not even say hello to that face..oohhh that face.. i
