| WTC-The movie I just saw the advertisement for it and it almost brought me to tears. It looks like it's going to be a great story to watch but It feels like it's too soon. It's been 5 years but it seems like it wasn't long ago. How do you guys feel about it? |

| I totally understand about it being "Too Soon". I think it is too. But on the other hand, it may help some people remember why we are sending our boys to the Middle East to fight. I sure don't want to start a debate here about our involvement in the M.E. but the way I see it is. After September 11th, most of the American public wanted action taken in response to that horrific day. Our President did just that. Now, there are so many people who wants it to end and feels we should have never gone. What would the US public have thought if the President chose not to go to war? By releasing this movie, I hope some people will remember why our boys in the front lines and are risking their lives to keep us safe. To each of you who read this post and are in the Armed Forces or have loved ones in the Armed Forces, "Thank You". I am praying for your safe return.

| i think it's a little insensitive to come out this soon. i respect all the troops and what they do for us. but, the bottom line is they make movies to make money. i don't think they should be profiting from this. the victims kids have to watch these ads. if people want to learn more about 911 they can search out info on their own. they don't need hollywood to tell them the story. |

| Thanks Actually I was active duty Navy when our country decided to take action. My husband was deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom. His destroyer was one that sent the missles up. So in a sense he has blood on his hands. I think many people wanted a war and now have lost sight or simply changed their minds. Maybe too many big desicions were made in haste. But we can't change what our country has done. We can just learn from it and build from there. He's being sent back to the M.E in September, two months before our baby is due. It would be nice if the movie brought attention back to the armed services. But I think the movie will focus more on the heroics of the firefighters and policemen which do deserve credit. The pride that the US showed in yellow ribbons after September 11th was very touching to me. But unfortunately it takes things like that for many Americans to find pride and love in our country. Some country bands out there are even saying that pride in your country is "stupid." It would be a shame if we all thought that way. Excuse me for not being optimisitc but I don't think a movie will bring back American pride. Last edited by cheryl000; 07-17-2006 at 10:14 PM. |

Your comment above is right on target and you expressed it much better than I could. I didn't even think about the focus being on the police & the fire departement and once again you are right about them deserving credit. But, it our son's & daughters, brothers & sisters, husbands and wives who are fighting on our behalf and we need to keep them in our prayers and they need to be thanked for VOLUNTEERING to Serve Our Country. Thank you again. I pray your husband will be able to join you and welcome your baby together.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i saw the preview for the WTC movie when i went to go see another movie. I could barely watch it. its still to raw. I live in Jersey, 15 minutes away from the city so i could see the smoke rising from my house for weeks. It was an absolutely horrible sight to see. On 9/11 i was away at school down in south jersey so i didn't see it when it happened. However my sister was in the trade center when the first plane hit. She was downstairs in teh shopping area before she went to work. After the plane hit she didn't think anything was really wrong so she left the building and went to her building right across the street. From her window at work she watched the second plane hit. THen was forced to run down all teh strairs in her building to evacuate. After getting on the street and and starting to walk away, the first building fell, so there she was with thousands of other people running for their lives to get away from the falling building. Nobody in my family could get in touch with her for HOURS. and i was two hours away , it was horrible. i kept calling and calliing every 5 minutes to get her to answer the phone. I finally got in touch with her when she took the ferry about across the river to jersey and she told me what happened. then i called her fiance and my parents. We were lucky because we didn't lose anybody that day but thousands of other people did. Its not something we want to relive. I am definately NOT going to watch that movie. it will have me in tears the whole time. My sister was with me at the movies when we saw the preview and she had her eyes covered the whole time. it was definately NOT something she wanted to see either. I don't think this movie should have been made. For the people who lived the experience, i can honestly say that we don't want to see it again.

| I think it's too soon for the movie. And I think Romeo's Mommy is right- they made the movie to make money (even though they may say it's to pay tribute to whomever.) I am thankful that I didn't lose anyone I know that day, and I feel terrible for the people who did, who are still dealing with the pain of going on and trying to live life without loved ones. Now, if all profits were being donated to victim's families or to a scholarship fund for the children of victims, I would support the movie, but I don't think I'd like someone to become a millionaire off of the something like this. Maybe this would be more appropriate in 10 or 20 years, but to me it's just too soon. |

| I knew two people who died in the WTC.... one girl was my daugher's best friend from school (Colonial school in Pelham, NY).... the other was a fireman who lived three houses down from me in Pelham, NY. I was already here living in Missouri when 9/11 happened.... but all my family is still in NY... and I heard horror stories... about trying to find loved ones... and trying to get out of the city (walking over the bridges) to get back home. I remember after awhile I couldn't even watch the news reports anymore... made me cry too much. I am sure the movie will be exceptional... but I am sure it will be hard for everyone to "re-live" the disaster.
