So......we're all curious........how'd it go last night? Didja' have any more critters? Did your possum bring any of his buddies with him? Come on we're dying to know!!!!

Always wondered.. how many squirrels one would need to feed a family?? I mean how much meat can one squirrel have?

It depends on how big your family is and how healthy your squirrels are! Probably need a couple a piece or so for an adult. BTW...squirrel is pretty good! So is rabbit!

Hmmm, well, I can tell ya...four squirrels fit into a frying pan.

As kids, we didn't have to eat squirrel to often, (thank God)...I think my "those look just like puppies" comment turned them off.

Don't listen to Diana....she's a victim of mad squirrel/rabbit disease.

PS To Diana....dead squirrels ain't too healthy any more.

You girls are a riot! I have never eaten squirrel or rabbit and don't intend to do so in the future. But I think I may have preferred it to the scrambled eggs and calf brains my foster mother used to MAKE me eat! I would gag like crazy but that did not help...had to eat it anyway!!! YUK!!!

Oh God, my dad used to eat eggs and pig brains....it was the grossest thing I had ever seen. Fortunately, he didn't waste pig brains on we kids. I'd stuck those in the seat cushion for sure.

LOL!!! Those might have gotten you caught...cause they stink like crazy when you eat em...can't imagine what they would smell like at room temp after a couple of days...not to mention the little critters they might attract as they break down in the foam!!!

OMG i think i need pysco therapy now ..Childhood trama over being fed rabbit deer ,oh and not to mention the pheasant in the bathtub being plucked ...ewww
and the deer being skinned in the basement ! Guess i would make one heck of a survivor in the wild ..haha As a kid we would go camping and it was in the mountains and there where snakes I had to use the outhouse and stood still screaming because i saw a snake ,I think a army of adults came to me rescue.Haha you should see me in the water ..I still am tramitized from my brothers teasing me about snakes and Fish , I had nightmares for weeks over Jaws movie and still can't stand the music to the movie ..pycho therapy ,,,here we come ...giggles

Lets just say i have a vivid imagination ...

We had a house on the water in Carolina...the lady next door lived there year round and owned a rooster. When she first got him....that crowing in the morning would wake our whole family up...until we got used to him. She had a/c so her windows were closed....a/c goes on the blink...she took a shotgun and killed Mr. Happy Morning...he ran, headless, down INTO the river. She fished him out and made chicken, (rooster?) salad.

Best part of dad hunting....after cleaning them...we got squirrel and rabbit tails to play with. And yes, we had real toys....don't ask why we wanted tails...

My Dad fixed that one time for us kids when my mom was out of town. YUCK!!! Give me squirrel or rabbit anytime!!! My Dad also used to eat pickled pigs feet!!!

They don't even look appetizing!!!!!

Well, we tied the squirrel ones on our bicycle handle bars. I don't even remember WHAT we did with bunny tail fluffs. Used to get real rabbit's feet too...NOT the dyed green/blue ones.

And forewarning...do NOT put an unpreserved rabbitt's foot in your room and forget about it....because you will NOT forget it LONG.
