| hey... Obviously your friend misunderstood. You agreed to fill in for someone one time. it seems clear to me. You are not committed to going full time! They can't ask you to pay money you don't have available for that and neither should your friend! You are not in the wrong here they are! Don't stress yourself about it. :-) Just tell them you can't do it. Besides if you went along with it you would most likely hate yourself for it later. If you don't want to do it and can't afford to do it don't let them guilt or presure you into it. That is not nice of your friend! Take care. :-) ~Tru

| I would tell them that they misunderstood. That you were only helping out the team for 1 week. That right now you don't want to join for the rest of the season.

I am sure if you were asked to play perm you would have been told that there would be the $180 fee and probably would have said no straight up due to the cost. I would just come out and say that I never agreed to be a full timer on the team. Let them find someone else.
