Obviously your friend misunderstood. You agreed to fill in for someone one time. it seems clear to me. You are not committed to going full time! They can't ask you to pay money you don't have available for that and neither should your friend! You are not in the wrong here they are! Don't stress yourself about it. :-) Just tell them you can't do it. Besides if you went along with it you would most likely hate yourself for it later. If you don't want to do it and can't afford to do it don't let them guilt or presure you into it. That is not nice of your friend! Take care. :-)
