I Am SOOO Angry I Could Kick Someone!!! Well, my "friend" asked me if I wanted to play softball last week as a fill-in for a vacancy on their team. So I said yes for just last week. I didn't end up going because I was sick. Well, today I get an e-mail from the friend who enrolled us in the league; he is asking me for $180 check. I never agreed to play every week! 180 dollars is about what I make in 2 weeks!!!!! I can't possibly afford it and now I feel like I am stuck :( Ugh. Would you just stick it to them and tell them you never agreed to it? The friend who asked me to fill in is saying that I told him that I would play every week! So I look like a big idiot. :\'( |
I would tell them that you never agreed to it full time and youjust don\'t have the time to commit to something like that... you would not want to let anyone down... good luck! p.S tell them your too busy saving $$ for the blue house.... lol./. |
$180.00 to play softball!!!Wow that\'s alot. I would\'t send them the money if you didn\'t agree to it. That\'s their problem, and if it just started then they can find someone else easily. Crystal |
I would NOT pay. You did not at any time agrees to play every week and you never agreed to pay any money. Don\'t let your friend try to guilt you into paying the money. |
Wow, that\'s an awful lot to ask of someone without telling them all the details first! I\'d back out if I were you. |
Personally, I wouldn\'t expect to pay anything if I were a fill in. In my mind you are filling in for some player who couldn\'t make it. The fee should\'ve been the responsibility of the regular players....not a fill in. If they never mentioned any fees, I wouldn\'t pay it. |
I would not feel obligated to pay. Just explain that there must have been some misunderstanding because you were just asked to fill in and you had no intention of playhing every week. If it\'s a real friend they will understand. If they get mad, then you haven\'t lost much. |
Sheesh - that IS alot of money - how good are you Kristy ? If you\'re REALLY good - go show em your stuff and tell them to PAY YOU to play !:D |
Be honest. Tell him you were agreeing to that one week, and you can\'t afford $180.00. If you\'d be willing to do it if it weren\'t so much money; then let him know that. Maybe he will realize that it was a big mistake, and get you out of it, or maybe he might find a way to pay for it. Good luck. |
There was no deal, for you to play always,, so tell them..NO DEAL! And I also agree, 180.00 to be a fill in.. good god! |
You never signed an agreement to it right? I wouldn\'t pay it esspecially if you didn\'t play last week and don\'t want to pay. That is a lot of money. Just tell him the truth that you just wanted to be a fill in. |
Thanks guy, now I know that at least I am not cheap! LOL. No, its not 180 to be a fill in. My friend told my other friend that I agreed to play every week, so its 180 for all the rest of the games - not just to fill in. Problem is that I only agreed to fill in last week! I was trying to be nice so they wouldn\'t have to forfeit. I think it is about time to shoot the middleman. LOL |
I would tell them you only meant to fill in that one time. Good luck |
I agree. I would just say I\'m sorry my friend must have misunderstood. I was only asked to fill in for one game not sign up for the season. I\'m sorry but I just can\'t commit to that, but if you need an occasional sub, please give me a call. |
Do NOT pay that money, you didn\'t agree so you shouldn\'t pay. Go shopping for Stewie instead :D |
