| I think your honesty is fantastic, when I was young it was expected we girls were going to grow up and have kids, after raising 7 kids,19 grandkids and a great grand child on the way,I will say if I had it to do over again,I wouldn't have kids, yes I love the ones I have and there family's,yet , themif I am to be totally honest,I would have been just fine with my yorkies, you don't have to pay for college, replace cars, worry wondering what they are doing, making sure you did a great job, yep, yorkies have the same dr bills, and I have figured out how to spoil them rotton, but then its ok,cause if you don't like my yorkies, please don't come around, gee you can't say that with kids, plus never has one of my yorkies called me in the middle of the night ,saying they wrecked my car...to me its a no brainer |

| its too bad you feel this way...i use to feel that way until the OOPS and then there was tyler who is the world to me then OOPS again and there is Mary Anne who is the angle in my life. just remember....you use to be a baby and a little kid. if people felt like you, you would have had an awful childhood with no love.

| http://lifestyle.msn.com/FamilyandPa...54101>1=8174 Kristy - I'm glad you read it - I think everyone should! I've read it three times so far, haha - b/c all of my friends are having babies now and asking me why Eli and I are waiting, lol!!!! Here's an exerpt for those of you who haven't read the above linked MSN article: ----------------------------------- Taking a Stand But parenthood as panacea? I'm not buying it, and neither should anyone who's not really into the idea of being a mom or pop. I'm here as a new parent to stand up for all those nonparents out there -- the ones who haven't yet made up their minds about kids and the ones who definitely have -- and proclaim that there is nothing wrong with not having children. I did it for more than three decades and led what I'd consider a pretty rich life, filled with learning, love, travel, adventure, laughter...and other people's children. You're not being selfish. Your life won't be empty. And you're certainly not destined for a sad, lonely end. People can find meaning in their lives in ways that don't include progeny. So the next time some well-intentioned parent harasses you about your decision not to have kids -- or at least not to have them yet -- just let yourself off society's hook, go out and live the life you've chosen with no regrets. Find fulfillment by climbing a mountain, jumping out of an airplane, taking a job in Asia or, hell, reading the Sunday paper without interruption. Then tell us breeders about it. And feel free to gloat. ---------------------------------

| Donating YT 10K Club Member | Jaspersmom...your post reminds me of my kid hating friend. Here in Virginnie...land of tobacci...at restaurants you are asked smoking or non-smoking....Zak's reply is always....no kids section, please. I should've put a disclaimer on my liking kids....I do not like undisciplined children....the ones whose mother's say to them....oh, sweetie, mommie doesn't like that...in the syrup dripping voice...while her lil' darlin' is swinging from the chandelier.

| When my oldest is yelling he can't find his socks..my girls are fighting ..and my youngest is running through the house..i think lord please give me the strength to not throw them out lol..But then i'm outside planting a garden and my youngest comes and plants with me..or i'm sitting in the chair and my oldest plops in my lap..my oldest walks by and kisses my cheek..my youngest looks in my eyes and says i love you mommy and I know I couldn't imagine missing out on that. I've never felt love in my life til I held them for the first time and I haven't found that kind of love since.Don't get me wrong I love my husband and my family but nothing gives me the feelings that my kids do. That said lol..I still totally respect those that don't have chidren. We are all different and each and every person has the right to choose to or to not. I'd much rather someone say hey children are not for me and to stick to that then to see parents out there having kids that don't want to..or worse have them and not care for them properly..as for the kids acting out in stores. I have at one time or another had my own child do that. I don't know many moms that haven't..kids don't always act the way we want them to. It's how we handle the situation that matters. My pet peeve would be moms that take their kids out and the child looked like it hadn't had a bath in a month. A little soap and water goes a long way lol..

I did the counting thing too BUT If I have to get to 3 there was hell to pay! All 3 of my kids learned at a very young age that it was not wise to test mom in a public place. My son never really acted up in public, he was just hyper and couldn't sit still. My girls on the other hand each had fits. One in the market and the other in a restaurant. After a trip to the restroom neither one did it again. My son one time was acting up at a my older daughter school play. He could not sit still so I got ahold of him and told him he was going to get it if he didn't stop. After about a minute or so he started again. He looked over to me and said but mom I really can't help myself! He was only like 3 at the time. I tried to hold in the laughter but when the lady next to him started laughing, I couldn't hold it in.
