| When I was 16 my best friend bleached her hair blonde. We were going to a concert and we decided to dye our hair with Kool-aid, no biggie, we could wash it out... BAD IDEA!! Her hair sucked in the color like a sponge and it WOULD NOT come out! She had BRIGHT purple hair!!!!! I grabbed a box of hair dye and called the 800 # on the back, the very kind lady there talked me through the procedure on getting her hair back to normal... first, we stripped her hair with the hair stripper from the beauty supply store, then we took 2 boxes of color, one a light strawberry blonde and one a light brown. Ya take one of the colors and put it on your hair without mixing the color with the conditioners, leave it on for a few minutes, wash it out and then color like normal with the second color... let me just say her hair looked BEAUTIFUL when we were done! It was light brown with a hint of strawberry blonde highlights! Unfortunatly due to all of the bleaching, stripping and dying her hair started to fall out and break off so on a whim she shaved her head, yes that's right, she shaved her head!!! I stopped dying my hair after that... and so did she! For our whole senior year she was known as the "bald girl" !!!!

Sorry V. I know how you feel. I didn't start coloring my hair till about 4 years ago. At the first sight of gray, I was not having it! Well you've seen my hair. It's thick, very long, and very curly. I decided to let my mom do my hair to save myself alot of money. BIG MISTAKE!!! I had patches all over my head. I straightened my hair so that it would be easier for her. But I guess it was just too much hair for her. I went thought 3 bottles and it was not enough. So after washing and trying to fix it, it wasn't all that bad. After it dried fluffed up, you could hardly see the spots that were uncolored. But my mom went and got one more bottle and tried to get the parts she missed. Oh lord, It was bad!!! Never again! My poor mom tried. She does my sisters hair all the time. They do have long hair but very straight and not at all as much or as thick as mine. She felt so bad that she paid half for me to get it fixed. She wanted to pay all of it, but I would not let her. It was $150. I since found a lady (a friend of a friend) who will do my hair for $50 and I take 4 bottles which 3 & 1/2 are used.
