Uh Oh....I groomed ME and OOOOPS !

I have an orange hair story! My hair is naturally auburn...of course with age, it faded and the gray hairs start to pop in sporadically around your head, so I had been coloring with over the counter...most people didn't even know I colored it, because it was still my natural color, just covered the gray and made it look better. Well, one summer I let a hairdresser put highlights in it. I liked it, but at the end of summer I was ready to go back aunatural! So I go and buy the exact same thing I had been using for a year or so......bad idea...if you put auburn color on highlighted hair what do you get??? Ronald McDonald ORANGE! I was mortified, ran to Sally's they gave me something to strip it and to color it again, I stripped it and colored it again.....ORANGE again!! Called in sick to work the next day, which was a Monday...most hairdressers take Monday off, called 100 places and finally found one who was working that specialized in color and Thank God she fixed it!!! That was the end of doing it myself...now it is off to the hairdresser every 5 weeks to color my stupid gray!!! Getting old sucks and is expensive!!!!!

My Mom is a NUT that obviously was craving my Dad's attention, because if he wasnt working, he would be watching soccer or playing darn soccer. One day my Dad was watching soccer as usual and my Mom decided to dye her hair... i guess those days they didnt shave pubic hairs She dyed them too .... While my Dad was concentrating on the TV... my Mom stood infront of him, asking how he liked her new colour, he gave her a quick glance and said "looks good" she then dropped the towel He was SHOCKED to say the least, he sat up straight totally FLAB. he said "WHAT THE H*LL " ... I think of her everytime i see those paintboxes in the stores LOL

Years ago we had a pool party, we invited people over, a friend of a friend joined in... we sat talking, waiting for the BBQ having drinks, after a few glasses i thought i was seeing things, this woman's hair turned GREEN It had like a khaki shade to it... i thought i was gonna die, trying not to laugh ... aparently it had something to do with the pool chemicals and the hair dye lol

I NEED to hear some BAD HAIR Experiences here - Whether it be a Do it Yourself Job or a Stylist - and I decided after today - I really should read directions on boxes when it comes to PERMANENT hair color - I never dye my hair and now I know why....Frosting hair is just as permanent isn't it ?

Years ago I allowed my roomate to hightlight my hair and she turned it orange, I was so humilitated and poor so I decide we would just dye it ash blond and I bought a box of dye at walmart. well those colors dont mix properly and I didnt know that and so needless to say my hair turned blue! Yes it had an ashy blue look and other parts of my hair were orangey and yellow looking. I was so embarrassd and deperate at this point so I ended up ditching classes (NO WAY I was going to school like that) and spending 8 Hours at the beauty salon the next day (and over $100 ) getting my hair fixed. I ended up getting dark hair with blond highlights on top and alot of my hair fried off.

Shana - I REALLY feel your pain girl - especially in School - YIKES - at least today I was able to hide and don't have blue hair. These days girl - that would be considered FASHION you know ....

Poor girl - that's a hard lesson and I totally believe it - We really do some dumb stuff to ourselves don't we ? lol - Just ask ME - The Skunk Lady....At my age you'd think I'd have learned.

My worst hair experience was when I decided (on impulse) to have my sister cut my waist length hair to shoulder length. I forgot to take into account the weight so when it dried it curled up to my ears. There was no fixing that. Picture something like this but poofed out more like this I looked horrible. I was in my late teens so it seemed like an eternity until it grew to a decent length.

I let my husband put highlights in my hair years ago. What was I thinking! When it was done I couldn't stop crying! He had to run out and buy dye but it didn't cover the racing stripes completely! My husband wanted to lighten his hair one summer and put sun in in it. It was horrible and he looked like Billy Idol!

This is a great thead! I am loving it!!!!! And Villette, you crack me up!!! Its ok sweetie!!!! Frosting is soo out!!!! LOL! Please, go see a professional from now on!!! We know what we are doing!! And there is always a reason for the madness we do! Lots of foils!!!!! It looks crazy, but, its always worht it when you see the final thing!!!! I love to use a few different colors when doing blonds! Looks more natural that way! And if its done right, you should only have to have it done once every 3 or 4 monthes!!!! Not too bad!!!! LOLOL! So sorry you had a bad experience! But it did make me laugh!

And to those who have had bad experiences AT the hairdresser---please, never go back to them!!!! They must not know what they are doing! UGH--so sorry for your pain!!! But then again...its only hair, it can be fixxed, changed, cut and will grow back!!! LOLOLOLOLOLL!

Oh V, so sorry. My blonde friend used to touch up her roots all the time. Well one night we decided to give me highlights with the leftover, which actually turned into my deciding to try being blonde instead. bad idea. When I woke up the next morning my husband was like "What the *#(&$ did you do to your hair?!!" It was horrible. I cried. So off to the store to get a color. While reading the box for the color it said I first had to strip out the other color. So I did that, which gave me white straw hair. I had to take the kids to swimming lessons, so I crammed it up under my baseball cap. When I got home I died it brown. Well everyone at work kept commenting on the red in it. Turns out that every time I washed my hair it was getting redder and redder. I finally had to suck it up and cough up the $$$ and get it professionally done.

My worst haircut was when I was still at school and I got one of those short, tousled cuts.Unfortunately, I have big ears,which were then obvious! It earned me the nickname 'Dangermouse' for the rest of school! Needless to say,my hair has always covered my ears since!!

Go to the professionals to fix it up. A home fix could be a disaster! I couldn't do anything with mine-it had to grow! And we weren't allowed hats at my strict school.
