This is too funny! I hope you don't go gettin' yourself pecked on but you're so sweet to care about this birdie! I have to agree though.... I thought I knew what a nasty pigeon looked like but this looks different to me. Maybe because I never really studied them too close.

Maybe he's a Virginian. We have wild pigeons that look just like him...btw, maybe he's a she.

Haha! you should have seen me, hubby and my oldest daughter trying to catch a hawk! it ran out in front of a car and had a hurt wing, so my bright husband says, lets catch it, yeah sure! I'm right on top of that dear!, he says, gimmie your sweat shirt! so I take it off and give it to him, he says, now you go on that side and Branda go on that side and he stayed in the middle, and here we are running around with htis thing trying to run from us and if it even gets close to me, I jump and scream and run to my daughter to save me! LOL so now my husband is like, thanks you 2, your a big help!, well he cornered it and threw the sweatshirt over it and picked that thing up!
we contacted a lady who takes injured wild animals and nurses them back to health and if she can, she releases them to the wild.
here are 2 pics, I know there not the clearest, but gives you an idea!

We rescued a herring out of our yard once...you know....the stork looking birds....let's just say...he wasn't real happy about the rescue...not at all.

We chased a momma duck all over the place...trying to help her get to the river behind the house (she was walking them in the middle of the street ) Thought...oh we'll catch her and the babies will follow. After two hours of chasing her....we learned if you catch their babies...momma will follow you.

and after reading again about the tags YES my curiosity got the best of me.

After much thinkin and plotting ....and ALOT of eye rolling on my husbands part ....I made myself a Lawn-Chair Ladder and decided to get a really good look at Homers tag. ....after building my ladder creation to get over the fence (I'm NOT 20 anymore so no more hopping fences) - Well - dummy me forgot gloves

After I came back and he wised up to me. He was way in another yard - my husband saw him fly...so my little pigeon friend really wasn't flirting with me after all.

LOL It was a miserable try - 2 years ago I'd have scaled that fence !

I had bread and everything and Vainchicks Bird Flu post made me think twice about wearing gloves (for my girls protection) ....and I REALLY wanted to add a note to his foot - that would have been too cool.
