| PayPal Scam - Buyer Beware!!! This last weekend I received an email from service@paypal.com stating that my account was randomly selected for confirmation of my account information and that my account would be restricted until I confirmed my information. Because I have received an email from Paypal like this before I didn't question it. I started filling in the information and it asked me for my full name, address, credit card number that I registered with, mother's maiden name and the PIN NUMBER to my credit card I couldn't believe this. I stopped, did not hit send and opened another browser to Paypal's direct website (www.paypal.com) If my account had been restricted it would have said so the minute that I logged on but that did not happen, everything with my account was fine and I sent myself a transfer of funds just to verify. I clicked on Paypal's security link and it explained about phishing emails that have been going around and if you get one to send it to spoof@paypal.com. I did this, and about an hour later received an email from Paypal that this indeed was a scam. I was relieved that I had not hit the SEND button and provided some idiot all of my personal information. This morning I get another email from Paypal saying that a payment that I made to Shana (tinkerbellscloset.com) on 04/30/06 was denied due to limited access. SHANA!! I am working on this as we speak!! It seems as though Paypal has reason to believe that my account has been accessed by a third party and need to re-verify my information. I had to confirm my credit card #, my home address and they wanted to make an automated phone call to my home phone, problem being that I do not have a home phone, only a cell phone and they cannot make calls to cell phones. So, my account is locked until Paypal sends me a letter to my PO BOX to confirm my location and I send it back. WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$. I just wanted to make ya'll privy to this information so you do not fall into the same scam that I almost did, or I guess it does looked like my account information was accessed even though I did not hit the SEND button. Be careful, I'm a very cautious person and almost got taken!!

| I got that e-mail too! I sent it to PayPal. They had me change my password for them. I guess they have been having lots of problems. When you use on-line credit it can be really scary. The card I have for PayPlay is only used for them, and everytime it's used, the credit card company sends me an e-mail to let me know. I really like PayPal, but it seems they have had a few too many promlems

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Wow Courtney...bad news. Never ever answer or click anything in these emails. Go directly to the site. And I have my email preferences on eBay set to HTML only. Any emails I receive from eBay or Paypal do NOT contain images (their logo)....just words. Of course the scammers don't know how my preferences are set....those emails still contain the logos. Even though I have them set that way....I don't even bother opening emails saying...account verification, or suspended or whatever they use in the subject line...I just delete them. d Deleting them has reduced the number that I receive. I can't remember when I got the last one. Good luck on getting your information straight with Paypal.

Pay pal has an email address you can FORWARD any emails to and they WILL write you back and let you know you were being scammed. A GOOD RULE on the net is to never for ANY reason respond to an email... or click any links - you can always contact someone via their website without opening yourself up for a scammer....no matter HOW realistic the email looks !

| Be VERYYYYYY careful when you get emails like that. I get emails like that all the time from "Paypal" and "eBay." There are three easy ways to check if it's for real. 1. They will NEVER ask you to type in personal info, i.e. pin, credit card, etc. 2. They will always use your full name in the email, not: Hello soandso@aol.com. 3. And the BIG way to check: If you scroll over the website they give you with your mouse (without clicking), the REAL website will show up. I'll give you an example: Scroll over the website that I placed below. I have named it "paypal.com," BUT it will really go to "yorkietalk." Go ahead and scroll over it and look at the bottom of the screen. Click on it if you don't believe me . That's how they get you. You click because you see the web address, but it takes you to something completely different. www.paypal.com
