Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Where were you???? I thought it would be really interesting if everyone could tell where they were and what they were doing when they found out the horrible news of 9/11...for me, being young, this was one of the first major events in history that I clearly remember what I was doing the moment I was told... I was a swim practice that morning and our coach normally watch the news while we did our workout...but this morning he was letting us play around a little bit and some of us were watching the tv with him...it was then that we heard about it, no one could believe it and as we sat and watch it, we all saw the 2nd plane hit the tower!! It was the most incredible, saddening, and scariest thing I have heard seen in my life...I immediately called my mom just to hear her voice and tell her what happen...I just remember the rest of the day at school we just watched the news and leaned on each other for support!! I was foruntate not to know anyone in the attack but was still very affected by the disrespect that was shown to our country!!! Please tell us your story....

| I was in my final semester at college. We had a 9 AM class and I had just walked into the dean's office to do my usual chatting with the secretary when we got a phone call as to what happened. We all immediately went into the computer lab where our class was held and got online to see all the developments for ourselves. We were all in disbelief when we watched together as the 2nd plane hit the towers.

| I was sitting in my 1st period english class when it happened, someone came in and told us about it but we didn't really know the extent. Once I got in my 2nd period class we turned on the TV and watched in disbelief. Our Spanish teacher let those that wanted to form a circle in the middle of the classroom and say a prayer. (With laws the way they are she could've gotten in big trouble but she said she didn't care and prayer was what those people needed the most right now) Great teacher huh?? I don't think I'll ever forget that surreal feeling of "Oh my God how can that happen in the US" |

| I work in NYC...So I was just arriving into work when the 2nd plane hit...It was on TV in the lobby of our office...All I remember was being numb for a moment...I knew my sister worked only 2 blocks from the WTC...I was frantic...I called her cell no answer, i called my mom at work to see if she heard from her, she didnt...After about an hour she called my mom and said she and her co-workers were in a bar still stuck in downtown manhattan...But she was ok and that was all that mattered...She saw the first plane hit the first..SO it is something in her memory forever...It took me almost 4 hours to get home that night...The whole entire city was basically shut down...You coudl see the smoke billowing for miles...It is a day I will NEVER forget...

| It's amazing how bad things stick in your mind. 911 and the day Kennedy was shot. On 911, I was exiting off the interstate. Every morning I listen to a radio station that is even broadcast on tv (Turner South). This particular morning they were watching as the plane hit the first tower. Like everyone, I was in disbelief. I was within 2 blocks of work and ran in to turn the tv on the news. We were watching as the 2nd plane hit. My youngest daughter just returned from a trip to NY and part of her trip was to ground zero. When she called to tell me about it, I have never heard her cry like that. She said mom to see it is unbelievable. There is a quiet peace that is unexplainable. She said mom, we were standing where all these people lost their lives, and I didn't know it would hit me like that. The Lord above and prayer are all that can heal the pain we have suffered. |

| I was at a funeral home with my husband, waiting for his aunt's funeral to start. We always have the radio on in the car, but we didn't turn it on that morning as were enjoying a nice conversation without the kids around. Kenny's cousin came in and said she and her sister were leaving to go home to Washington DC because 2 planes had rammed in to the WTC. then they heard about the Pentagon and were frantic to get home to their kids. (all were fine) I came in to work the next day to find out that a woman I work with lost her brother in the WTC. I've been to ground zero, it is an unbelieveable experience to stand there and think about what happened.

| I was living in NYC at the time and was at home with my kids and I never put the tv on in the morning but for some reason I did that day. I saw the 2nd plane crash into the tower and I just stood there in disbelief. I called my husband and then I tried to get in touch with my friends and family who worked in the city. One of my best friends was traveling into the city and thank God her bus was stuck in traffic! She worked at the World Trade Center and would have been there! It's still seems surreal.

| I can't even say I understand because that wouldn't be true. The depth of pain was so overwhelming for everyone involved. I just sat in front of the tv all day crying my eyes out to what I was seeing and being so thankful my family and friends were safe. I'm sorry it touched you so closely. I hope his wife and kids are okay.

| So sorry to all who lost loved ones. I was laying in bed EARLY that morning realizing I was in labor with my second son, got up and turned the news on just as the second plane crashed into the building. My labor stopped a few hours later, many people calling me to tell that I just could not let this little boy out on a day like that. He finally came on the 14th. |

| I remember it so well...I had stayed home from school for no reason at all. I had told my mom I just didn't want to go to school that day..which was something i never did, I loved school....SO i was sleeping in my bedroom when my mom woke me up. I got into her bedroom where the tv was on and I watched the second plane hit. I got to watch all of the news that day, and to this day I trust my instinct on everything. SOmething in me told me to skip school that day. It's not that I would have been hurt at school I might not have gotten to watch as much news and it was really comforting to have my mom there to help me through it. |
