| Blondes and Asians (especially Korean and Thai) in this area get a ton more money than everyone else because there are so few of them donating. And the eggs are very sensitive so they cannot be shipped - all donors are usually local or regional (within a couple hours distance). Apparently brunette donors are very common. African American donors are also not in demand so they are compensated less, too. Attractive, Ivy League students who are blonde are being compensated over 20 thousand dollars. One girl from Harvard was interviewed on one of the night news programs (I am pretty sure it was 60 Minutes) and she was actually recruited. She was a huge activist and philanthropist in her field; someone with that "good" of genes is highly valued apparently. My University Newspaper has daily ads. Egg donation ads run every day bragging compensation between 5-10k "with most donors receiving about $8,000". I have friends and acquaintances who have done it and they did not complain at all. They said it was a little difficult to remember to take the hormones, but other than that, no side effects. I talked with my gynecologist about it and she said that I would possibly become even more fertile (like I want that ) after the procedure was complete. Donating multiple times does not mean that you will be less fertile later on.and Lastttttttlyyyy, I agree w/ Larissa. Just because you donate an egg or a sperm, you do not automatically become a parent. Nuture overrules nature in my mind. I am not carrying it or caring for it... just donating my fortunate-ness to someone else.

Ive also heard that you can become a lot more fertile..especially while you're undergoing the horomones and a couple of weeks after the procedure is done. It specifically states that you should abstain or there is a very high chance you could get pregnant yourself..

After all, look at what the woman has to go through, and all the men have to do is get paid for something they were going to do regardless. And to think that people don't 'buy' children every day is just naive. At least this sounds like a more controlled environment where you know you'll be helping someone who badly wants to have and love a child. Good luck to both of you, Larissa and Kristy, in whatever you decide to do.
