| I don't know how much more I can handle Well my dad just called he is taking my mom back to the Er, thankfully the one closest to us in Orange Park. So I'm hopeing not a long wait like last time. After mom's last stay we got her off the oxycotton and oxycodone that she was taking for her cronic daily migraines. We were hoping things would get better. They haven't she has now developed a fear of eating, if she eats she might trigger a migraine and a bad case of depression. My dad took her to a phyciatrist (sp) who specializes in eating diorders and at 2:30 I called to see what happen. My dad said he would tell me when I got home. Well he just called me back and said to meet them at the Er, he is admitting her. I know it sounds selfish but I don't know how much more I can take, we have been dealing with this for 5 yrs and it is wearing the 3 of us down. I have to be careful because I deal with depression and panic attacks and this is just seeming like to much. Please say some prayers for us and I will keep you updated. Michelle

| I can imagine what your MOM is going through even moreso than the other members of your family. The medications you mentioned she was on are very dangerous drugs for anyone to take. You have to be very careful with them. I'm surprised there isn't another type of medication for the migraines without having to use those type pain killers. I personally would not take them. I tell the doctors that I'm "allergic" to them. They ask me what type symptoms I got from them and I just reply that I don't remember other than it wasn't very pleasant. People have been known to commit suicide while on those drugs. Let's hope and pray your Mom will be able to come off those nasty drugs and get on something without such side effects. My heart goes out to all of of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

| Thank you all. I am so happy to have this forum. I am at home waiting to hear news and the only thing I could think of was I need to get on yt. You are all more of a help than you know. Muffie's mom, thankfully mom has been off the meds for more than a month. It is now more a fear of food triggering her migraines. She has tried other migraine pills but none worked this was a sort of last resort, which by Nov we had all decided was not what she needed. I slept very little last night due to the fact that my mom had said goodbye to me numerous times as I headed for my bedroom. My dad and I have hidden her meds since about 3 weeks ago for fear she might take too many. Last night that was a very big worry and after the dr today was no help...he was actually more interested in the company my dad workd for, my dad decided it was best to get my mom to the hospital. Ifihe hadn't had I would have. They are there as I type, she is getting blood work done and then my dad said they will probably admit her, it's just a question of which ward. I told him I would come relieve him for a bit but he thinks I will be better at home with the pups. Moose is by my side and gives me puppy kisses and lil bear is at the puppy geat waiting for my mom. Moose will bring toys to her to try to get her to play but she's just waiting for my mom. Thank you soo much for your thoughts. I hope soon I will be able to let you all know that mom is much better and that she is able to go back to sewing and painting like she use to before this nightmare started 5 yrs ago. YT will always have a place in my heart you are all so sweet.

| I'm so glad to hear your Mom is off those pills. I'll be praying that they'll find something that your Mom will be able to take. She may end up taking two different pills to counteract both problems. Have you "googled" your Mom's problem? You may want to check out Mayo Clinic and some of the BIG famous hospitals. You may be able to find help somewhere else if you can't find it there. Whatever you do, don't give up hope. Honey, I had a fatal heart attack 15 years ago and almost died twice that night. This is 15 years later and I'm still fighting to stay alive. So whatever is meant to be, will be. My heart goes out to you. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

| I'm so sorry that your family is going through this. It is hard for your mom, but you have my sympathy, too. It is so hard to be the child of a sick parent. The stress and worry are incredible. I know this from both the child and the parent side of things! Find out from the social services office at the hospital if there is a support group for the family of chronically ill patients. Hopefully they have one, and you (and your Dad) should both look into it. You need to take care of yourselves so that you have the strength to help take care of your mom. Good luck!

| Michelle, We are here for you, Even though I think you mom is going through more than just migraines, I need to say that I also suffer from Migraines and they are pure hell. What kind of medication did they give her to get rid of the migraines once they have started?? For years I would just suffer with them. When I kids were young I would lock them in my bedroom with me and shut the lights, put the television on really low and pull the covers of my head. But about 5 years ago my doctor prescribed Imitrex and its almost the best thing that has ever happened to me. Well, good luck. And know that we are here is you ever need to talk!!
