I agree with you all how frustrating it is that some people are not adhering to the guidelines set. I saw some town is taking down the basketball backboards because people continue to play there. What is unclear to them? It is mindbongling. |
We are at the time of year where the cold and flu season should be getting past us and yet this keeps spreading :( |
I saw on the news where ppl in their 20"s health nuts feel they are safe because they are health conscious, they were told they could still this COVID , have no symptoms, not get sick but could still pass it on to ppl they come into contact with. I forget what state it was wants ppl that do not have to go out stay home, you were allowed to go out if you had to go to work, are a caregiver, watched children and other things of this nature. If ppl were just out and strolling about they would institute a new law and arrest those that were not following the stay at home policy. It's going to have to come down to that for ppl to understand what stay home means. As careful as I have been, last Monday I had catastrophic flood in my house, I have been subjected to many strangers coming into my house to rid it of water, some floors and walls have to be removed and new installed, new installation put in, lots of plumbing to be done. When they leave I wipe everything down with alcohol. Since there are no hand sanitizers to be found I was using alcohol on baby wipes when I did have to go out and had to touch things, I also wore latex gloves. I had 2 bottles of alcohol and felt safe using that, "had" enough until this buying frenzy was over. I have used one bottle since the flooding and the contractors have not started the repairs. I do have hydrogen peroxide to fall back on because I will use that last bottle of alcohol. Just ticks me off big time I was taking all precautions then this....... |
Are there very many cases in your county |

Without knowing who it is that makes it a lot more difficult to figure out have I come in contact with them? So far, it’s just one case here |
I can't find the numbers but found this hot zone’; Pa.'s COVID-19 cases specialists have confirmed community spread is occurring in the Poconos. The vast majority of the patients seeking services in our emergency department are COVID-19 related. Residents need to take social distancing seriously. I live in the Poconos which is a big tourist attraction. I don't have much time to spend on the computer, much to do since the flooding. |

They arrested some guy last night for having a barbecue with over 60 people and then went on to have a bonfire I think the next night with another over 60 people there they given him three warnings and I believe they put him in jail that’s southern Maryland. |
Are they nuts, that's what is going to happen in every state if ppl do not stop this mingling. |

Thank you Kat
That's just awful anytime but now, with trying your dead level best to stay safe at home, you have to have contractors all over your house and then clean up to try to save your health. Horrible! Hugs and more hugs to you, you, Joan.[/QIUOTE] Right!!!! of all times to have a flood in your home, I lock my pup in the back room that isn't affect by the flooding. I want no one to pet him, breath on him. Thank you Kat and Jeanie for the hugs, I sure need them. |

Kentucky's governor has been very tough and I'm glad because I believe he is keeping the numbers down. Yesterday he ordered no leaving the state unless a need for urgent medical assistance or work. (We live right on the border with Cincinnati, OH.) I am sure many of you also have governors such as this too. Governor Beshear talks everyday at 5. It reminds me of the fireside chats during WW!!. Are y'all getting everyday updates also? |
I can't use Lysol spray with the pup, I don't use any sprays in the house. They say a bleach and water mixture is good also, I cannot take the smell of bleach, but will have to use it and save some alcohol. Thank you Kat I don’t normally use sprays in the house either. I put the pets in another room close off a room spray that room let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes then crack a window and use a fan, or the bathroom and kitchen fan to ventilate and remove most of the smell. You have to be careful using bleach even in solution for anything metal because it will cause it to prematurely corrode. When I order groceries from Amazon, when the bags come I open them on the porch spray Lysol in them because all the food is wrapped, seal the bags back up, spray the outside of the bags, and wait a half hour. Then I unpack the bags on the porch and bring the food inside and put it away and very importantly when it’s all put away I wash my hands thoroughly. I do just about the same thing with carry out but thinking about it we haven’t been ordering carry out hardly at all out of an abundance of caution. |

About food itself, cooking will kill corona virus. For uncooked food, I wash everything prior to eating it in a tub of fresh dishwater with dish soap. Dawn original, not anything antibacterial as they don’t rinse off completely. Actually, a doctor said on TV if you do eat corona virus, the stomach contents will kill it. Just don’t get any in your nose. I will continue to wash my food though, lol. My hands get washed as I wash any cold veggies so good to go. I take them right from the fridge to the sink so I don’t have to keep wiping the counter off. I’m soooo lazy. Lol. I have to be careful what I use in the house. I love a bit of the carpet freshener powder, till my DH came in from work one day and his eyes swelled shut. He can’t even mow the lawn. |
I’ve used Instacart too. Just wanted to add that the virus can last up to 3-5 days on packaging depending on humidity and such, so I throw all bags and boxes away immediately, outside, then wash my hands and arms to the elbow. Just most important to wash after handling new stuff, from any stores, and leave boxes outside, or disinfect them if you need to keep for any reason. |
