Especially now that they don’t send out Christmas catalogs |
Horrors. Can't believe people used to have to use phone books and catalogs for TP. We are spoiled rotten. |
I live in Washington and we are pretty well locked down. We are enjoying extra time with family and the fur babies. We have decided that we will have a "project" every day that we have to complete to stay productive. It is easy to just hang out and lose track of days, so we are trying to get as much stuff done as possible. We have been working in the yard, cleaning the house, working outside at our rental properties, and cleaning out our closets. The dogs are really enjoying having us at the house and getting extra walks and love. The social distancing has been challenging as I haven't been able to visit my parents because my grandfather lives with them. I don't want to risk getting him sick as he's survived cancer, pneumonia, a stroke, and has a weakened immune system. We usually have Sunday dinners with Grandpa and we've had to put those on pause :( |

I like your project a day idea. Also, I don’t think anyone is looking down at anyone else. As our governor in KY says everyday, “We are all in this together.” |
I didn’t make this many trips around the sun to go and be stupid now. Forget going out for Easter, I’m waiting for health professionals to say ok. I’m not listening to any politician without a degree in medicine |
During this social distancing time the dogs and I have been camping at a state park nearby for the last several days. All at the campground have been keeping good spacing. But I heard other parts of the park have people congregating such as the bike trails and basketball court. Unfortunately that could get stuff closed down due to a few badly behaved groups. |
Some states have closed state camp grounds due to this virus, you are very lucky you are able to camp. Have fun :) |
I’m staying put for a while |
Smart man |
Takin precaution at work I hope Maxdog? |
I am basically in for the long haul, I even signed up to have groceries delivered to my house. Unfortunately I do have to go out from time to time and it scares the C@@p outta me. This is not going to be short term iceolation. I read this virus likes the cold, the article advised in the warm weather drink hot or warm drinks even drink warm water, stay away from cold drinks in the warmer weather. |
Australia has it and it was during their summer https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...onavirus-curbs |
The article didn't say the virus is not affecting ppl in warm climates. I have to "assume" you put yourself a greater risk when you drink cold fluids, that is not to say you cannot catch this virus if you drink hot or warm drinks. I Can only tell what I read. |
Don't know if it's true but a sportscaster on a local sports radio show, that also broadcasts CBS sports and other sports radio sportscasters from around the country evenings and weekends, was saying earlier today he saw people in Central Park playing basketball and other group playground type activities. Says he works in a big building where others work, doesn't know even if the elevator buttons, sports radio and restrooms used by all on his floor, are being regularly wiped down. Says when he goes out there are still people acting no differently from 2 months ago! If true, it's frightening that so many are potential carriers or victims-to-be of their own bad judgment still out and about. I've been wondering how you could stay safe confined in elevators - they are never even 6 ft. wide. |
We jumped from a thousand to a couple of thousand deaths in a couple days. Crazy people won’t help this |

We have a member lives in NYC, Thursday she was going to Central Park with stroller and yorkie. I suggested that was not a wise choice especially since NYC has a very high count of the virus, her reply was "I cannot keep away from CP"....go figure  |

They're infection rate is soaring. Cannot imagine such an irresponsible attitude. Areas of high increased infection going to have to start arresting people! Saw a neat Tweet from NFL's Robert Griffin III: "Your're not stuck at home. You're safe at home." |
Rather be home then at a funeral home |

I don’t think half the people understand what’s going on. My 80+ year old neighbor and her DH keep meeting with their relatives and friends thinking it’s ok because their group is less than 10 people. I asked her where each one was the day before? She says well no one is sick or has any symptoms. I said that’s why this disease is spreading so fast. People don’t know they have it and spread it around. By the time symptoms show up, they’ve all interacted with hundreds of other people. A family member keeps sending my son to the grocery store for 1 or 2 items. I said you know it would be better to wait till you need a bunch of things from the store, rather than sending him out everyday for 1 or 2 items. She says well he goes to work everyday, what’s the difference? I said the less he’s out minimizes his possibility of exposure. She still doesn’t ‘get it’ and now is mad at me for saying she needs to change her behavior. WTF... stay at home means just that. STAY AT HOME! Thanks for letting me vent... not that you had a choice, lol. |

It probably doesn’t hit home until it’s family or friends dying |

Cuomo, Newsom and Abbott and other governors of states where people are not taking physical distancing in public seriously had better ban parks, public trails, beaches, etc., until we get a downturn of the spike of covid-19 cases. Saw coverage on the news where one newscaster said that he'd seen teenagers at a local park playing basketball! I saw a long, long line of adults of various ages waiting in line to apply for unemployment benefits(tuned into the story late so no idea where it was), barely a foot apart just like those black Friday lines waiting for the stores to open and don't recall seeing anyone wearing a mask or scarf or anything over their mouth or nose! What IS is about catching or not contributing to the spread of this virus they just won't get? Because death rate is still low percentage-wise and morbidity equal to a bad cold, regular flu episode, in most of the cases? How do they know whether they might be missing a gene that precludes this virus from hitting most really hard, local medical provider/hospital just plain out of the primary medication or equipment their doctor orders, or their strain of virus mutates or grows rapidly enough in them enough to kill? |
I’d say there are people in all 50 states that have a attitude the thing won’t get me. I might be one of them if I were younger. I’m older now and it’s finally in my rural area so, I take extra precautions. I’ve been watching these numbers climbing up steadily https://factba.se/topic/calendar |
