Come on, Judy, you are not going to get shoulder problems and even if you do, a few days of some shoulder trouble will be far outweighed by the horrible weeks of not being able to breathe, headache, chills/sweats, face-ache, sore throat, body aches, pains, coughing until your toenails come out your mouth, exhaustion/fatigue and high fever with diarrhea and vomiting, which I get from high fever as well as from some of the medicine the docs give me. I was sick for a whole month the last time I got it years back and still remember one Sunday night, I just had to sit up all night because I was fighting so hard to breathe. I honestly was working to take in each breath for two to three hours and too scared to lie down once that passed! It's not worth skipping a few days discomfort for the agony of two weeks to a month of the flu if you get a bad case that has any complications.

Now get yourself that flu shot, woman!

Your not alone, no one in my family gets it either, we never have. It's rare for any of us to get the flu. From some of the stats I've seen most people don't, less than 50% get it. I really never think about getting the flu, if I do it's no big deal, I just develop natural immunity to that particular strain.

My doctor says most people don't get the flu shot until they had the flu then they won't miss it. It is honestly like death it's not just a cold it's so much worse and caused me to have some serious side effects.

I work with hospice patients and today I got the notice to go get the flu shot. They are very strict about getting this shot. If we choose not to get it, we have to wear a mast during the time of hospice visitation. Better get that shot now, hope they do not run out by October. I think a lot of people are aware of the necessity of getting this shot.

I will....I almost died....hospitalized for a week due to relpse...then finished up with home IV therapy for the double pneumonia that almost killed me....
Now, on TV tonight, they say if you are 65 or over, you need TWO doses....one now and a repeat in 6 weeks.....I need to repeat my pneumonia shot too....it has been 4 years.....

yep that lil flu bug is heading your way. I have to get my butt to the pharmacy and get mine soon. I am in denial that summer is over and flu season is near.

OMG I was going to wait till Oct.1st to get mine, after reading this I am getting it tomorrow. Thanks for the details of the flu.

Check with your Dr. on the pneumonia shot, that don't give it when you reach a certain age, This was told to me by my Dr. several years ago,sorry I forget what the was.

We got ours at CVS. They gave me the standard vaccine, but hubby is over 65 and because of that they gave him something different called a "high dose" vaccine. It has 4X the antigen compared to the standard vaccine. It was more expensive but cheaper than having to get two, and he didn't have any side effects.

I've probably given over 10,000 flu shots, started giving them in 2006. I've been getting the shot since 2004 when I first started rotations for pharmacy school and have never had a reaction.

Well.............I took the big step and got my flu shot..........I survived, and I didnt get all pale, cold, and clammy, or pass out!

(I was looking on line for Southwest Airlines tickets to Charleston, Il.! lol)
