Have you seen the penny floors??? SO COOL looking! A penny backsplash would be great. Btw, what would you use to adhere the pennies while placing them, and then how do you seal it?
Does your roof deck get full sun? We get soooo much sun w/ our exposure and it's just awful on our outdoor furniture...we can't find any that will last. | I have seen the penny floors. I didn't like that as much a penny walls for some reason. Plus a lot more work! There are two ways to put on the pennies. One way is one by one, but that's not recommended since the pennies are all slightly different sizes. By the time you get a good amount down you see the rows are going all wonky.
The second way is to make a pattern with the desired amount of space between each (if any) and lay that down and cover with packing tape. Then put the woven fabric you see on backs of mosaic tiles down and use the caulk to adhere the pennies to it. Essentially making your own mosaic tiles. Then you lay them like regular tile.
We decided to change our minds on the penny backsplash bc we have these copper tiles that we were going to put somewhere else, but ended up not looking right. So we will eventually put those on the backsplash.
As for our roof deck, yes full sun. Our furniture is teak, no cushions. We bought it used and the lady had it in full sun also. Teak is good at not warping like most woods would. It's very comfy without cushions. But still looking for a lounger and that would probably need cushions. Quote:

You need to share the photo of your kitchen sink faucet. Ann's brain will explode when she sees how cool it is. :p
Do you mean the furniture itself or the pads? Our 'metal' furniture is holding up, but the pads we have to store when not in use. They would be toast if they were in the sun daily. We have to replace our umbrellas every 2 years, even though they are made with the special material, sunbrella? | We have an umbrella with a Sunbrella canopy too. I think that brand is more hyped up as far as quality anyway. Our already has a few bare spots worn in.
Here is our faucet. Attachment 398987
We also have a stainless steel sink. Sometimes I wonder if I should have gone with the one big sink instead of the divided one we got, but the raised middle makes washing knives easier for me, so I think we made the right decision. |
