I guess I'm odd man out. I hate all white kitchens. Our last house had it and it just looked so plain. Our place now we got lapidus slab counters and dark wood cabinets. We were going to do a penny backsplash but changed to Copper tiles, easier. Want wainscoting w upholstered walls. Right now they are doing our bowling alley of a backyard. Should be done thurs. Pavers, planters, and patio cover. I'll post pics when done. Our roof deck is pretty much done. Thinking about a faux grass rug under the teak table tho, and still looking for a lounger. |

Does your roof deck get full sun? We get soooo much sun w/ our exposure and it's just awful on our outdoor furniture...we can't find any that will last. |

It's sort of both...the pads don't hold up bc the sun just bakes them and the fabric breaks down and tears; we never took them down for storage bc we have our furn out all year round here....so it's super tough on the furniture; we gave up on our padded furniture. Then we went to this tight-weave type stuff (no pads), and some of it is holding up well so far, but the ones out in the full sun all day aren't. It may just be a given that we need to replace stuff often out here, but it's so $$$$! |
1 Attachment(s) Speaking of kitchen sinks, wants it: American Classic Modern Oil Rubbed Bronze Spiral Pull-down Kitchen Faucet | Overstock.com Shopping - Great Deals on Kitchen Faucets Also want this stool for my art/painting table/studio area: Carolina Cottage Adjustable Tractor Seat Stool |
My house is so boring. I am very neutral/practical. Around here, everyone has Oak cabinets, and I am so tired of oak! I did recently update our kitchen to granite counter tops, travertine 3x6 tile backsplash, single basin sink and rubbed bronze faucet. LOVE the one Ann posted. I never seen that one when I was shopping. I am in the market for 3 pendant lights and coordinating chandelier for my dining room in a rustic/industrial theme. I'd really like to make a trip to Texas where I can find some custom made. Ann, these are on our Craigslist. Custom made tractor seat bar stools one of a kind set of three but I like the one you posted better. |

Those stools are AWESOME! That's like a once in a lifetime find there. How fun would those be!!? In our library, I have a semi-rustic/industrial light fixture -- it's round, but it also comes in an oval. I *think* it may also have pendant lights in the same style. I got it at Home Depot! Have you checked out their lights...they have some cool stuff, coordinating too. |
Cha Cha - some cool industrial-ish pendant lights on Joss and Main today: https://www.jossandmain.com/City-Lof...&utm_campaign= I'm checking out your Pinterest (I think it's you?) and I'm loving the rustic barnwood mirrors...I've wanted one too, but have nowhere to put one. So neat. |
2 Attachment(s) My sink is granite composite in dark brown. It is hard to keep clean too. On the lights, I found one of these pullys in my dad's junk pile and I want my DH to make me one of these lights to go over my sink with it (without the wire globe). I'd like to coordinate my pendant lights and dining light with this. So I'm thinking something along the lines of the second pic. |

Oh my lord have you seen the colored sinks? I saw them at the design center, they are beautiful but I went with stainless because I know I would dislike it in 2 years and had to think of resale. I am obsessed with my house and always want to make changes. That is why we are selling, I think I have pushed the other halts good nature with changes and remodels. He does not do any of the work but has to live in the construction zone and he does not like it. Next house I promised to stop, it's my compromise for suggesting a move from this house. |
