Shelly, I love the fixture in the link you posted. Very cool! |
2 Attachment(s) Came across these cute Laundry Guides on etsy...for $42...didn't want to pay that, so went searching around the net and found these. They're not quite as charming, perhaps, but they're along the same idea. I printed them on glossy photo paper and they turned out fine. They have a sort of chalkboard background, which I like. Think I will frame them and hang them in my laundry room. Anyway, if anyone else wants to print them, I sized them down from A4 size to approx 8x11. |

2015 home trends prediction. What do you guys think? I've been wanting wallpaper for ages but it's so hard to find and pricey! We were/are going to do upholstered walls. Already bought the fabric but haven't done it yet. And loving the gold/brass hardware, though I prefer the antiqued stuff more. NOT digging cowhide though. Seems like it wasn't very long ago that was already a trend? The hairs come out too. https://homes.yahoo.com/news/top-5-h...172803623.html |
Cowhide, no. I can't even think of wallpaper after my nightmare experience removing it from the plaster walls in our entire house in Chicago. It required weeks of using a steamer and scraper.:) I'm strictly a paint girl now and always think of the ease of changing things down the road. |

Don't like the cowhide. I do like the texture of faux mongolian fur though. The real stuff looks *amazing* in terms of adding texture, but I just can't bring myself to do that. I love the brass/gold hardware that we've been seeing for a couple years now...I wasn't sure how long this trend would last, but it's still really popular. On the mid century modern...blah...nothing new there...I like it, always will, and feel like it will always be in style no matter what. I DO really like allll the mid century inspired lighting fixtures we're seeing though, love!!! |
I like wallpaper probably bc I've never had to deal with it before. Either hanging it or removing it. I always think of that episode of I Love Lucy. I def don't think it's something I could do myself. But I love the look of Victorian damask wallpaper. Everything I liked was way too pricey, that was why we decided to go the fabric route. There's just so many styles of wallpaper, I can't imagine people not liking it. It doesn't always have to be so high contrast or bright colors. This is the wallpaper I've been drooling over. It's a double roll and covers 60 sq ft. at $40 a roll! and that's discounted from $80 a roll! Victorian Detailed Damask Wallpaper Double Roll Bolt | eBay |

This is a room from my dream house (which was recently marked down, so I only need $5.25 mil, lol). This paper makes me dizzy: Attachment 403596 |
