2 Attachment(s) Witness Restoration Hardware's $209-309 Barn Sconce vs. Lowes Hardware $29 Barn Sconce. Guess which one I bought :D ?! (and...how easy would it be to make the $29 one have the same weathered look as the RH one!??) |
I'm in the middle of redoing my kitchen so this thread caught my eye. I've never really understood my decorating style. Love so many different styles. I think the hardest thing for me to do was decide what I like the best, so I've been putting it off for years. My style been what I called schizophrenic, I like ultra modern and or maybe French country. Anyway, I took a little quiz where you pick out five pictures that appeal to you, they aren't rooms, just images, and it will tell you your style. I couldn't believe it, it came up with my style, and it really does fit what I love, it's called "Farmhouse Glam" which sounds so much better than schizophrenic. I don't know if this will help me on my choices for the kitchen, but I think I can now more easily make some decisions on what I'll like long term. Here's the quiz. HomeGoods | Stylescope Wylie's Mom, can't believe the price difference in the two sconces. Love to see a picture after you paint them. |

Here is what the sconces look like just hanging up as is - I couldn't resist hanging them right away even though they're not hooked up. I don't even know if I'm going to paint them bc I'm kinda liking the contrast as is. (please excuse the messy dresser top full of books!) |

I think the sconces look great as is. I do love shinny things though. I'm think I'm not as into colors anymore as some people are, I feel like I've been there done that, but I absolutely love different textures. |
Took the style test: HomeGoods | Stylescope I came out with Spa Life and a little Traveler. Not surprised, and I can't even count the number of Buddhas that are in my home. However I have a heavy draw to Boho; depends on which room I am in, and some rooms are more Glam. I'm just very eclectic, and like diversity I think. |

"Urban Funk has undeniable funk and soul. She's at home in a place where industrial meets comfort, where over-the-top meets laid-back chill, and where retro art meets graphic simplicity. And she does all this in a way that feels totally effortless." That sounds just like you. Your faucet should be on that page. Notice one of the pictures on the pinterest page of urban funk. I also give a thumbs up to the Rustoleum for outdoor use. All of my patio furniture is painted with it so that the color matches. It even stands up to the hose water, which tends to rust things faster. I also used Rustoleum (a brush on variety) on our concrete foundation and utilities (gas meter, electrical box). Seven years later, no rust, cracking, or peeling. |
